New Delhi. Tata Motors may soon reduce the price of its electric cars by up to 30%. According to a Money Control report, the company is planning to launch a 'Battery-as-a-Service' (BaaS) model on the lines of MG Motor India, in which the cost of the battery will be separated from the price of electric vehicles and It will be given on rent.

According to industry experts, this scheme of renting batteries separately can reduce the prices of Tata's electric vehicles by Rs 2 to 3.5 lakh. With this, customers will only pay the price of the vehicle and rent for the battery. Currently, Tata Motors' electric portfolio includes Tiago EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV and Curve EV.

Plan to increase market presence
Tata Motors hopes that with the battery-as-a-service model it will be able to further strengthen its hold in the market. By renting batteries, the ex-showroom price of electric vehicles will be reduced by 25% to 30%, which will motivate more and more customers to buy these vehicles.

According to the report, Tata Motors is currently planning this model on the drawing board. However, chances are strong that the company will launch it soon. Potential customers of Tata are ready to adopt this model as it gives them an economical option to drive.

MG Motor launched the first BAAS scheme
MG Motor India was the first in India to launch this battery rental program with its Windsor EV. Under this program, customers can drive by paying battery rent at the rate of Rs 3.50 per kilometer. Later MG also implemented this scheme in Comet EV and ZS EV.

What is the Battery-as-a-Service Program?
Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) is a scheme in which the price of the battery is separate from the price of the vehicle. Customers pay fare based on battery usage. This means that the battery fare will be charged according to the distance covered by the vehicle. For this, customers will have to pay rent (EMI) every month, however, battery charging will have to be paid separately.

MG Motor is also offering many attractive facilities to its customers under the battery rental program. Services include lifetime warranty for the first owner, 60% buyback after three years and one year of free charging on eHUB through the MG app.

This recall has been done after a huge decline in deliveries in China, the largest market in terms of revenue. In the third quarter, shipments of BMW and Mini brand cars in China fell 30 percent, the sharpest decline in more than four years, the group said last week.

In September, BMW issued a profit warning due to the global recall of 1.5 million cars related to faulty braking systems supplied by Continental AG. Fixing those defects is expected to cost the automaker about €1 billion ($1.1 billion).

The spokesperson said the repairs in question should take about three hours and that vehicles in Europe will not be affected. They were not immediately able to explain why the recall would not begin until March.

2025 Kawasaki KLX 230 Engine Specifications

The locally assembled Kawasaki KLX 230 is powered by a 233 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that produces 18.1 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 18.3 Nm at 6,400 rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike promises to provide good low-end and mid-range grunt while ensuring a smooth ride at higher speeds. Note that the KLX 230 weighs just 139 kg (kerb), which should make it quick and easy to maneuver off-road.

The KLX 230 Dual Sport is underpinned by a tubular steel frame and uses a 37 mm telescopic fork at the front with 240 mm of travel. At the rear there is a preload adjustable link-type monoshock with 250 mm of travel. The bike rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels shod with locally sourced MRF tyres. Ground clearance is 265 mm, making trail riding easy.

Braking performance comes from a 265 mm disc brake at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. The bike comes with switchable ABS, so you can switch off the rear mechanism to have some fun while going off-road. The Kawasaki KLX 230 is road-legal, which means it gets all the necessary headlamps and indicators as well as a fully digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity.

पिछले साल के EICMA शो में जनता के सामने पेश की गई होंडा ने आखिरकार CB1000 हॉर्नेट और इसके SP वेरिएंट के लिए पूर्ण स्पेसिफिकेशन जारी कर दिए हैं।

New Delhi. The Government of India has set a target of 20% ethanol blending in petrol next year and is considering taking steps towards taking forward the plan of ethanol blending thereafter. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, while emphasizing on ethanol blending at the CII Bioenergy Summit on Monday, said that for carbon neutrality we will have to reduce our dependence on petrol. Puri said that after completing the plan of 20% ethanol blending in 2025, it will be taken forward.

The Government of India has set the deadline to become carbon neutral by 2070. For this, not only has a target been set to reduce emissions from common vehicles running on petrol and diesel, but there is also a plan to reduce emissions in the transport and aviation industries.

The target will be accomplished in 2025 instead of 2030
The government had earlier pledged to achieve 20% ethanol blending by 2030, but later targeted to achieve this by 2025-26. Currently the ethanol mix in petrol is around 15%, which was just 1.5% in 2014.

Effect of ethanol blending on vehicles
Due to the hygroscopic nature of ethanol, it can affect some rubber components inside the engine. There have been many cases of engine parts getting damaged due to ethanol blended petrol in BS-4 vehicles. But in engines built on E20 (20% ethanol blended fuel) fuel, its effect is likely to be negligible. Petrol-powered vehicles can run smoothly on 10% ethanol blend, but some minor adjustments may be required for 20% ethanol blend. Engines of vehicles manufactured nowadays are coming with 20% ethanol compatibility.

Dependence on imports will reduce
Another reason for the government to promote ethanol blending is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels like petrol and diesel. This is promoting energy improvement. Consumption of ethanol by oil marketing companies has also increased the income of sugarcane and maize farmers.

Foreign exchange savings and environmental benefits
Puri said, “From 2014 to 2024, foreign exchange savings stood at Rs 1.6 lakh crore. CO2 emissions decreased by 544 lakh metric tons. Crude oil import was 181 lakh metric tons. “OMC paid Rs 1.5 lakh crore to distilleries and Rs 90,059 crore was paid to farmers.”

To ensure adequate ethanol supply for the ethanol blending programme, the government has introduced several measures such as subsidies for setting up distilleries and allowing different feedstocks to promote ethanol production.

New Delhi. Nissan has offered attractive discounts on the entry-level and mid-level variants of its pre-facelift Magnite model. According to Autocar Professional, benefits of up to Rs 50,000 are being given on these variants, while its high-end variants are getting a discount of up to Rs 60,000. It is available to customers for a limited time, so that they can avail big benefits on the old Magnite model.

The starting price of the recently launched Magnite Facelift has been kept at Rs 5.99 lakh, which is the same as the old model. However, the price of its high-end variants has increased slightly. The top-spec CVT variant, which was earlier priced at Rs 11.11 lakh, is now priced at Rs 11.50 lakh.

Names of facelifted models changed
Along with the facelifted model, Nissan has also changed the nomenclature of the variants. The old XE, XL and XV variants have now been replaced by Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta and Tekna variants. This naming change may be a bit new for customers, but it allows for better differentiation between the variants.

Engine and powertrain options

Price and Variants
Tata Curve has been launched at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh, while the price of its top model goes up to Rs 19 lakh. However, these introductory prices will be valid only for customers booking till October 31, 2024.

Engine and Transmission Options
Tata Curve has been introduced with three engine options. The most prominent among these is the 1.2-litre GDi turbocharged petrol engine, which has been named Hyperion. This engine generates power of 124 bhp and torque of 225 Nm, which is paired with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCA automatic transmission.

Apart from this, another variant of 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine is also available in the Curve, which produces 119 bhp power and 170 Nm torque. This is the same engine which is also found in Tata Nexon. The Curve also has the option of a 1.5-litre Chirotec diesel engine, which provides 117 bhp power and 260 Nm torque.

Characteristics of the curve in the segment
Tata Curve is the first SUV in its segment to offer dual-clutch automatic transmission option with diesel engine. This feature makes it even more attractive.
