Companies like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, Honda and Reno are preparing for 7-seater hybrid SUV launch in India, including Hyundai NI1I, Kia MQ4I, Honda PF2 and Reno Borel.

Hyundai ni1i
Kodename NI1I, the upcoming Hyundai 7-seater SUV will be located between Alkazar and Tuxon in the company's product lineup. It can be one of the first hybrid models of South Korean Autometers in India. Hyundai is likely to electrify its proven 1.5L Natural Aspirated Petrol Engine. The production of SUVs is expected to start in the company's Talegaon manufacturing facility by 2027.
Like its sister brand, Kia India will introduce a 7-seater hybrid SUV in the next few years. Internal Kodename MQ4i, it will compete with SUV Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hectare Plus and other upcoming Hybrid three-Ro SUVs. The MQ4i will be based on Soranto, which is available globally with a 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain. For India, carmaker Hyundai NI1I is likely to use a 1.5L petrol-hybrid powertrain.
7 seater of Honda
Located above the Honda 7-seater SUV elevate, the upcoming Honda 7-seater SUV will launch the all-new PF2 platform of the brand. According to reports, it can be introduced with a 1.5L natural aspirated petrol engine and a strong hybrid powertrain. The hybrid setup can be taken from the city sedan. The new Honda 7-seater SUV will be designed and developed with inputs from R&D centers in Honda, Japan and Thailand.
Reno Borel
Reno Borel has recently made his global debut and its launch in India is expected in the end of 2026 or in the first half of 2027. It is originally a three-day variant of the third generation Duster SUV. Both models will share platforms, powertrains, features and design elements. At the global level, the boral will be provided with 108bhp petrol engine, 51bhp electric motor, 1.4kwh battery pack and a starter generator. This setup offers about 155bhp joint power.
