Recently, we reviewed the Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket and the Steelbird Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves and here are the findings.

When it comes to riding a two-wheeler, be it a motorcycle or a scooter, be it an ICE vehicle or electric, wearing protective riding gear should be a habit. Although many two-wheeler riders in India do not follow it, the number of riders wearing riding jackets is gradually increasing.

Recently, I got my hands on the Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket and Steelbird Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves and reviewed them. Here are my findings and opinions about the Steelbird Zozilla Riding Jacket.

Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket and Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves Review: Design and Features

The Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket comes in traditional black as its base color, while the reflective stripes come in two colors – silver and green. The Z1 has a silver stripe, which increases visibility in the dark. Aesthetically it looks basic without any frills. However, design is subjective. The jacket comes with dual external pockets and an internal pocket for storage, which is claimed to be waterproof. Steelbird claims it's crafted from high abrasion-resistant polyester mesh, which somehow makes the jacket a dirt magnet. It features a multi-fabric shell with 900D high-performance abrasion-resistant fabric and air-mesh. In short, the riding jacket looks good with its overall design.

The Steelbird Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves are made from 100 percent polyester air mesh. It has touch-screen sensitive pads on the thumb and index finger, which enhance usability. Also, it has soft palm padding. Reflective piping increases visibility in the dark, while the microsuede, poly-stretch fabric enhances its utility.

Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket and Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves Review: Safety

The riding jacket comes with protective features like black support pads, shoulder pads and wrist cuffs. It gets removable CE Level 2 armor for back, shoulder and elbow protection.

The Steelbird Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves provide strong and solid knuckle protection, keeping you confident while riding. The overall design and build quality ensures comfort levels, while also focusing on the safety needs of the rider.

Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket and Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves Review: Comfort

The jacket feels heavy on the shoulders, but this somehow reassures about the protection level promised. If you are planning to use this jacket for regular riding during trips in and around the city, this could prove to be a good buy. However, on highways where the riding speed will be higher and the safety level should be higher, you can think of a better one. In fact, Steelbird themselves mention that the jacket is perfect for daily urban riding. The mesh claims to ensure optimum levels of airflow to enhance the comfort level during riding. However, we could not test it properly.

The Adventure A2 gloves have pre-curved fingers that enhance the rider's comfort level during long rides. While many riding gloves cause discomfort for riders, using these gloves, the comfortable and flexible protection for the fingers with soft palm padding and adjustable wrist cover made the experience quite comfortable.

Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket and Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves Review: Verdict

If you're looking for a budget-sensitive riding jacket and riding gloves, the Steelbird Zozilla Z1 Riding Jacket and Polyester Adventure A2 Gloves are worth the purchase. riding gloves cost 1,399, but can be availed on the online selling platform While the price of riding jacket is Rs 769 8,999, which can be availed at a much lower price on online platforms.

If you are planning to buy an entry-level riding jacket and riding gloves, these could be perfect considering the price proposition and the overall utility they promise.

WATCH: Upcoming Nissan MPV spotted testing in camouflage; what to expect…

  • Nissan's upcoming MPV based on the Renault Triber has started testing in India, featuring a 1.0-litre petrol engine and refreshed design cues.

A new Nissan has been spotted testing on Indian tarmac. (Kodavik/Instagram)

Nissan India's upcoming multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) has been spotted road testing, hinting at its launch soon. The new model will mark the brand's re-entry into the compact MPV segment and is one of the three new vehicles that Nissan plans to introduce in the coming months.

Preferred Source Banner
Preferred Source Banner

What do we know about design?

The test mule spotted on Indian roads is heavily camouflaged, hiding most of the design details. However, the overall shape looks a lot like the Renault Triber, confirming the shared underpinnings. Subtle visual differences, including a redesigned front grille, revised bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels, are expected to establish Nissan's distinctive styling identity.

What could be under the hood?

Powering the MPV will be the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that is found in the Renault Triber. Ensuring a balance between efficiency and convenience, this unit will be mated to either a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox.

specifications Description
engine 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol
transfer 5-speed manual/AMT
Power 71 bhp
Torque: 96nm
drivetrain Front-wheel Drive

What features can you expect?

The upcoming MPV is expected to have similar features as we have seen in the facelifted Renault Triber. Key features include cooled storage, wireless charging, touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, six airbags and keyless entry/exit.

The MPV is going to get LED headlamps with projector lenses, which, as tested on the Triber, have a manageable low beam and a decent enough high beam. However, the tail lamps are expected to be halogen with a modern design.

Which segment will it target?

The Nissan MPV will cater to the sub-four-metre three-row vehicle market, which is dominated by practical family cars. By sharing its platform with the Triber, Nissan aims to present value-oriented masses with additional design variation and potentially better feature packaging.

What else to expect from Nissan India?

After the launch of this MPV, Nissan is expected to introduce a mid-size SUV to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Hyundai Creta. Additionally, a large seven-seat SUV is also in development, which will rival the Kia Carens and Hyundai Alcazar, indicating a strong comeback strategy for the brand in India.

The third quarter of 2025 was one of change for India's automobile sector, not because of the volumes, but because of the sheer stakes. Grant Thornton India Q3 2025 The automotive industry recorded its best quarter in a year with 30 deals worth US$4.6 billion, according to a report by DealTracker. Beneath the statistics lies a rich story, one of an old industry slowly evolving from a homegrown growth story to a global player in mobility innovation.

A quarter defined by scale and strategy

On the surface, deal volume remained stable from the previous quarter. But the price hike spoke volumes the second time around, as evidenced by Tata Motors' $3.8 billion purchase of Iveco SPA, India's largest ever outbound auto transaction. This represents nearly 95 percent of the total M&A value, making an otherwise middling quarter historic.

Also read: Tata Motors and Iveco involved in major acquisition

But removing these big-ticket purchases, the figures show a more subdued tone: deal values would have fallen by 36 percent. A reminder that although front-page acquisitions are juicy copy, the underlying energy depends on a combination of strategic rebalancing and bets on new technologies over the long term.

Cross-border mobility and India's global presence

India's growing global role in automotive supply chains is the highlight of Q3. Promotion Motherson International made three outbound purchases, further strengthening its presence in Asia and Europe. These acquisitions reflect a low-key but firm shift, with Indian businesses no longer aspiring to be suppliers; Their goal is to become system integrators and solution providers on a global scale.

Iveco's acquisition of Tata Motors is also a symbol of change. For a long time, Tata Motors was considered a domestic commercial vehicle giant. Today, it is building a portfolio that reflects global ambition, in line with India's aspiration to become a net exporter of clean and efficient commercial mobility solutions.

Private equity bets on clean, connected mobility

Apart from boardroom-sized transactions, private investors remained committed to India's EV and mobility start-up sector. Private equity transactions remained strong at 23 worth $531 million, led by Prosus and Westbridge Capital for $271 million for Rapido, a vote of confidence in India's growing Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) demand.

Additionally, the IFC-funded investment of $137 million in JBM EcoLife and GreenCell Mobility will help add 4,000 electric buses across 39 cities, a significant development in India's urban electrification initiative. Smaller but significant deep-tech bets were also notable, such as TDK Ventures' $21 million investment in UltraViolet Automotive and seed funding into IndiGrid Technology and PeakAmp, underscoring investors' confidence in India's EV innovation capabilities.

The market is moving again

Saket Mehra, partner and auto industry leader at Grant Thornton India, calls this period a “strategic reset”. There is GST 2.0 on the horizon and tariff reforms are underway, reconfiguring India's automotive industry through policy and intent. OEMs are responding to the dual challenge of facing short-term churn while transitioning to a greener, tech-based future.

It is also interesting that public market activity was slow this quarter, with no significant IPOs. Instead, investors and automakers are looking towards the Toyota IPO, expected in 2026, which could revive regional sentiment and attract new global capital into India's mobility ecosystem. Q3 2025 truly showcases the evolving DNA of India's automotive sector. The story of the industry is no longer limited to just production numbers or domestic demand.

Toyota Motor Corporation has officially unveiled the Land Cruiser FJ, a new addition to its famous Land Cruiser lineup. The model will first launch in Japan in mid-2026, bringing a more compact and youthful interpretation to the family. The new FJ joins the existing models, the 300 Series, 70 Series and 250 Series, expanding the Land Cruiser range to a wider audience.

Originally introduced as the Toyota BJ in 1951, the Land Cruiser was the first vehicle to climb the sixth station of Mount Fuji. With 12 million units sold over more than 70 years and in 190 countries, the nameplate stands for reliability, durability and off-road capability. The FJ continues that legacy while offering the “freedom and joy” of modern adventure driving.

What are the main features of the design?

The FJ blends traditional Land Cruiser design cues with modern practicality.

  • It has a boxy, rectangular silhouette that emphasizes a spacious cabin and strong stance.
  • Removable corner bumpers allow easy repairs and personalization.
  • The round headlights are a nod to previous generations, while MOLLE panels support outdoor gear mounting, targeting off-road and lifestyle enthusiasts.

The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ gets bold styling with its boxy shaped aesthetics.

How is the interior designed?

Inside, Toyota focuses on visibility, function and controls. The horizontal instrument panel helps drivers easily judge the vehicle's attitude, while the low beltline and lower cowl improve forward visibility in difficult terrain. Included is the Toyota Safety Sense suite, which offers systems like Pre-Collision Safety to boost confidence both on and off-road.

What powers the new Land Cruiser FJ?

Under the hood is a 2.7-litre petrol engine (2TR-FE) that produces 163 bhp and 246 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4WD system.

With a shorter wheelbase (2,580 mm) than the 250 series, it promises better dynamics and a 5.5-metre turning radius. Toyota claims that the FJ lives up to the Land Cruiser's reliability and off-road capability due to good ground clearance and wheel articulation.

Will it come to India?

Although Toyota has not confirmed availability in India, if the model is introduced it may appeal to adventure-oriented buyers. Given Toyota's increased focus on its SUV portfolio in India, the Land Cruiser FJ may find a home among enthusiasts seeking everyday ruggedness coupled with Toyota reliability.

The Indian passenger vehicle landscape is undergoing a structural shift, and this time, it is not a short-term change in priority. This is a mindset change. A new SOIC Research report titled “Premiumization: India's Next Consumption Wave” points to a clear trend, SUVs are no longer just a segment, they are the new definition of mobility aspiration in India. The entry-level hatchback, which was once the default choice of first-time buyers, has been losing its position for five consecutive years, indicating that affordability is no longer the only deciding factor in the purchase decision.

Preferred Source Banner
Preferred Source Banner

The numbers tell the story clearly. SUV market share has reached 52 per cent, while hatchbacks have declined to just 26 per cent, their weakest share in almost 20 years. In FY2024 alone, SUV sales grew by 23 percent year-on-year, while hatchbacks declined by 17 percent. It's a surprising change for a market once dominated by compact cars.

Also read: BMW Group India records best-ever Q3 2025 sales, EV sales up 246% year-on-year

Premiumization isn't just about price, it's about identity

Be it the design and cabin refinement or the technology offering and road presence, Indian buyers are clearly looking for much more than functional mobility. The report said premiumization is flowing across the value chain, from OEM product strategy to components, internal suppliers and supporting ecosystems. Cars are no longer bought just for commuting; They are an extension of lifestyle, status and personal expression.

Automakers align portfolios

Car manufacturers are reading the matter and reacting decisively. Mahindra & Mahindra, which has seen tremendous success with the Scorpio-N, Thar and XUV portfolio, has made its stand clear. Mahindra Group MD and CEO Dr Anish Shah, quoted in the report, said, “Mahindra & Mahindra has decided not to make sedans, hatchbacks and small SUVs.”

Tata Motors is echoing this sentiment, with new-age SUVs like the Nexon, Punch and Harrier leading its volume play. “Especially in the SUV segment, we are seeing significantly higher growth than the industry average, driven by both upgraders and first-time buyers,” said Shailesh Chandra, MD, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.

Also read: Festival has arrived early: GST reduced, hatchbacks will become cheaper due to reduced tax.

Even Maruti Suzuki, the face of India's hatchback era, has accepted this change. “India is moving from small cars to high-end cars and while small cars may come back cyclically, the structural growth will remain with SUVs,” the report quoted Maruti Suzuki Chairman RC Bhargava as saying.

aspirations have changed

Earlier, first-time buyers would visit dealerships in search of the most affordable four-wheeler. Today, first-time buyers increasingly want a vehicle with height, stance and features, whether that means stretching the budget or opting for long-term financing.

The SOIC report attributes this to rising disposable income, easier credit access and a change in mindset where ownership is about pride rather than just practicality.

what comes next?

With SUVs expected to retain their majority share till FY2025 and beyond, OEMs are reorganizing their product pipelines. Compact SUVs are replacing the traditional entry hatchback, and features once seen in premium models, touchscreens, connected tech, panoramic sunroofs are now standard conversation starters. 8 to 12 lakh bracket.

India's auto market is clearly at a turning point. The era of compact affordability is giving way to the era of attainable aspiration, and in that story, the SUV has emerged as the new cultural icon of Indian mobility.

TVS Apache RTX 300 first ride review: Big thrill, affordable price

TVS Apache RTX 300 first ride review: Big thrill, affordable price

TVS Apache RTX 300: Design and comfort

For the Apache RTX 300, TVS Motor Company has adopted a new design language called “Mono Volume Design”. The motorcycle features a split headlamp setup with light blades and levitating reflectors, which shows clear signs of Triumph Tiger inspiration – and that's no bad thing. Unlike many ADVs, it does not have an extremely heavy fuel tank. Instead, the tank flows seamlessly into the front fairing, giving the bike a sleek yet muscular stance.

The riding triangle of the RTX 300 is very comfortable and so is the seat. We covered a distance of 110 kilometers without any fatigue.

At the rear, the design is minimalist with a neatly integrated grab rail. TVS also offers an optional larger unit that is capable of accommodating a top box. Credit where it's due – the placement of the rear LED tail-lamps is well thought out; Even with side panniers and a top box installed, it remains visible from all angles.

In terms of comfort, we rode the motorcycle for about 110 km without any fatigue. The riding triangle is upright, with footpegs and handlebars located comfortably within reach. At 5'8'' tall, I could easily keep a flat foot on one side, thanks to the tapered midsection and 835mm seat height. The split seats are wide and supportive, providing ample room to move around during long rides.

TVS Apache RTX 300: Engine

The Apache RTX is the first motorcycle to use TVS's new RTX D4 engine. It is a 300 cc, liquid-cooled unit.

The Apache RTX 300 is powered by TVS's new RTX D4 engine – a 299 cc, liquid-cooled unit that produces 36 PS of power and 28.5 Nm of torque. It is engineered for strong mid-range performance and a linear power curve, providing smooth, progressive acceleration rather than sudden increases in speed. Although this makes the bike easier to handle, some enthusiasts may find it a bit quiet, often requiring downshifts for quick overtakes.

Things improve markedly in Tour mode, where the engine feels more responsive, although the ride-by-wire throttle becomes a bit more sensitive, reacting to even the slightest movement of the wrist while braking. Apart from Tour, Rally and Rain modes are also available in the bike. Occasionally, we noticed brief dips in power delivery – not caused by traction control – but otherwise, performance remained consistent.

Some amount of vibration is present throughout the rev range, but is much better controlled than the 310cc engine. The six-speed gearbox is slick, and while the bi-directional quickshifter isn't as smooth as the Apache RTR 310, the clutch action is pleasantly light.

The tractability of the engine is its standout feature – it climbs steep, rocky sections without hesitation, even in second and even third gear. It may not be thrilling, but it's impressively composed off-road. Riders should test it out for themselves to see if the linear nature of the engine matches their preferences.

TVS Apache RTX 300: Riding Experience

The exposed beak is not part of the base variant's standard equipment. However, TVS is offering it as an accessory.

We tested the top-end BTO variant, which comes with fully adjustable suspension, so we can't comment on the stock setup yet. That said, the ride quality impressed us. The RTX 300 overcomes potholes, rough roads and rough terrain with ease. Even on rocky roads and muddy terrain, the motorcycle feels agile, light and confidence-inspiring – especially for those new to off-roading.

Braking performance is strong, thanks to a 320 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Rally mode also allows deactivation of rear ABS for better off-road control. The brakes provide solid feedback and inspire confidence.

The only weak point is in the tires – while they perform well off-road, grip could be better on wet or gravel surfaces. On tarmac, the RTX 300 feels composed and composed, flowing smoothly through corners without any heaviness – a rarity among adventure tourists.

TVS Apache RTX 300: Features

The tachometer on the digital instrument cluster is super smooth as it runs at a slightly higher frame rate. However, the same cannot be said for the Google Maps screencast feature.

As expected from TVS, the Apache RTX 300 comes quite well equipped. Key features include a dynamic headlamp that adjusts beam intensity depending on speed, cruise control, traction control, USB charging, a tire pressure monitoring system and a fully digital Bluetooth-enabled TFT display. The system also supports Google Maps screencasting, although there is a bit of lag and, like Royal Enfield's system, it does not allow locking the phone screen during use.

Overall, the RTX 300 offers one of the most tech-packed feature sets in its class.

TVS Apache RTX 300: Verdict

The Apache RTX 300 is a confident first step into the adventure-touring segment by TVS Motor Company. It blends comfort, stability and real-world utility with the brand's signature focus on rider-friendly technology. While its linear power delivery and twitchy throttle in Tour mode may not appeal to every enthusiast, its tractability, suspension setup, braking and ergonomics make it a well-balanced and accessible ADV.

With a starting price of Priced at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Apache RTX 300 offers excellent value and positions itself as one of the most accessible yet capable adventure motorcycles in India today.

Porsche has filed a patent for the new W12 engine

The auto world loves a farewell moment. Bentley made sure of this when it launched the final W12-powered Mulliner Battour, signing an engine that became a symbol of extravagance and craftsmanship. Most assumed this was the end of Volkswagen Group's W-engine story, a respectable curtain call before electrification began. Turns out, no one in Stuttgart was quite ready to close the book.

Preferred Source Banner

Porsche's recent patent filing, which is now publicly available, shows that the brand is experimenting with a fresh take on the W12 layout. Not a nostalgic revival, but a technological reimagining. The documents don't look like a tribute; They read like an engineering challenge.

Instead of the traditional twin-V arrangement familiar from Bentley motors, Porsche's blueprint shows three separate cylinder banks coming together in a clearly defined W structure. The layout is compact, layered, and clearly designed with thermal efficiency and packaging in mind, things you don't pay attention to unless you're building a high-output engine for a very specific purpose.

Not your grandfather's W12

The most striking thing is how the intake system is described. Porsche places an air plenum just above the cylinder head, providing a direct path for air flow, an almost vertical drop straight into the combustion chambers. In terms of performance engineering, this means less heat absorption, shorter travel distances for the intake air and a cleaner separation from the exhaust channels.

porsche
Instead of the traditional twin-V arrangement familiar from Bentley motors, Porsche's blueprint shows three separate cylinder banks coming together in a clearly defined W structure.

And this is where it gets interesting, the housing potentially leaves room for three turbos or a supercharger. This is not an evolution of the old Bentley twin-turbo setup; It's a different mindset altogether. This shows that Porsche isn't just tinkering with packaging, it's also pursuing responsiveness, boost control, and airflow precision.

A hint, not a product yet

However, this is not confirmation of production. At a time when most brands are busy calculating battery density and charge curves, Porsche is quietly investing engineering hours into a multi-bank internal combustion layout.

There is another layer here, the filing mentions that the architecture can go beyond 12 cylinders. This opens the door to speculation. Bugatti successor powertrain? Track-focused hypercar platform? Or simply protecting innovation before regulations close the door on new combustion formats?

However, the emotional side of it is hard to ignore. As the pace of electrification increases, engines like the W12 are becoming artifacts of a different design philosophy, engines built not just for transportation, but for presence. Porsche's new W configuration won't just be a technical detail. It will be cultural.

During the Hyundai Motor India Investor Day 2025, Tarun Garg, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, revealed that the next-generation Venue will have Level 2 ADAS features with sensor fusion technology.

Upcoming Hyundai Venue scheduled to launch on November 4, 2025

The next generation Hyundai Venue is all set to be launched on November 4, 2025. Ahead of its launch, Hyundai has revealed that the upcoming subcompact SUV will have Level 2 ADAS features along with other key features. During the Hyundai Motor India Investor Day 2025, Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO-designate Tarun Garg revealed that production of the upcoming subcompact SUV has begun at the carmaker's Talegaon plant in Maharashtra.

The company said that the next generation Venue will feature Level 2 ADAS with sensor fusion technology. This means that the new Venue will use radar, LiDAR, cameras and other sensors to improve object detection, tracking and decision making for ADAS capabilities. In contrast, the current generation Hyundai Venue is equipped with Level 1 ADAS features with a camera-based system.

Apart from ADAS capabilities, the next-generation Hyundai Venue will come with dual 12.3-inch screens in the cabin, one touchscreen will serve as the infotainment system while the other will serve as the instrument cluster.

The carmaker will also introduce over-the-air updates for vehicle systems. Additionally, as stated by the carmaker, the second generation Hyundai Venue is claimed to be based on a strengthened body structure to enhance safety.

Next generation Hyundai Venue: Design leaked

Earlier in the month, the second-generation Hyundai Venue was spotted undisguised in South Korea, revealing the complete design of the subcompact SUV. The new Venue is sportier and more premium looking than the existing model. There's a full-width LED light bar at the rear, much like the updated Creta and Alcazar, and it's housed within a contrasting black panel that also accommodates three light modules on either side.

The Venue lettering is now placed prominently between the lamps, while the rear bumper gets heavy dual-tone cladding that extends all the way to the tailgate. Hyundai has also added L-shaped reflectors and sequential turn signals.

At the front, the design becomes even more dramatic with the split headlamp layout. The thin LED strip at the top mirrors Hyundai's flagship Ioniq 9 SUV, while the quad-beam LED headlamps at the bottom mirror the setup of the new Creta. The grille is quite large, with rectangular inserts, and the front bumper looks thick with silver skid-plate detailing and functional air vents on both corners.

On the side, the SUV shows more chiseled bodywork with strong character lines and flared arches in the style of the Tucson and Exeter. The presence of rear quarter glass, silver-tipped C-pillar and fresh 16-inch alloy wheels make the Venue even more attractive.

With a bold redesign and the promise of advanced interior and safety technology, Hyundai looks to cement the Venue's position as one of India's most popular compact SUVs.

Looking for the 2025 Mahindra Bolero? Here's what each variant gets

2025 Mahindra Bolero range launches 7,99 lakh and above 9.69 lakh.

The 2025 Mahindra Bolero range starts at ₹7,99 lakh and goes up to ₹9.69 lakh.

View personalized offers

Bolero never pretends to be something it is not. At a time when most SUVs lean towards soft-touch plastics and LED signatures, the Mahindra Bolero still wears its utility badge with pride. This is the kind of vehicle that doesn't care about being Instagrammable, it's built to work, tow, and tackle the road surfaces that plague urban SUVs. For 2025, Mahindra has updated the lineup with a new top-spec B8 trim, expanding the range to four variants: B4, B6, B6(O) and B8.

Preferred Source Banner
Preferred Source Banner

All variants are powered by the same 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel engine that produces 75 bhp at 3,600 rpm and 210 Nm between 1,600-2,200 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel-drive are standard. At 3,995 mm length and 2,680 mm wheelbase, it stays within the sub-4 meter bracket, but still manages to seat seven in a 5+2 layout. The 215/75 R15 tires and leaf spring rear suspension underline that this vehicle has always stood for durability more than aesthetics.

Common equipment across all variants

Despite its strong position, Mahindra has ensured that all variants get the essential safety tech including ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, engine immobilizer and seat-belt reminder. A digital driver information cluster with Mahindra's micro-hybrid start/stop system is also standard to aid fuel efficiency.

Mahindra Bolero: B4

at cost Priced at Rs 7.99 lakh, the B4 variant stays in line with the Bolero's strong DNA without trying to look polished. It features a simple black grille, open steel wheels without caps and fog lamps to keep the cost under control. Inside, it's fitted with vinyl seat upholstery, manual air conditioning and essential functions like power steering and flip key.

Mahindra has retained the rideflow ride and handling setup and a basic digital instrument cluster, but apart from that, the cabin has been kept deliberately simple. This version is clearly targeted at buyers who prioritize longevity, easy maintenance and low acquisition costs, particularly fleet operators and rural users who value mechanical simplicity over creature comforts.

Also Read: Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo facelift: Top 5 things that have changed

Mahindra Bolero: B6

But Priced at Rs 8.69 lakh, the B6 variant starts to skew the utilitarian requirement enough to make everyday motoring more convenient. It adds chrome detailing on the grille and wheel caps to provide a little more presence on the road. There are power windows and a central locking feature as well as a remote-key function which provides an extra dimension of convenience that the B4 doesn't have.

The 17.8 cm touchscreen infotainment display with steering-mounted controls makes the cabin more usable for individual owners, and the switch from vinyl to fabric seats improves comfort for long drives. USB Type-C charging, a 12V socket, bottle holder and map pocket add practical utility, making this variant a better fit for those who intend to drive the Bolero themselves rather than just deploying it as a fleet vehicle.

Mahindra Bolero: B6(O)

The Rs 9.09 lakh B6(O) focuses on real-world utility and not just cosmetic changes on top of the B6. It adds static bending headlamps, which provide better visibility around corners, especially on dark roads, and fog lamps in metallic finish. A rear wash-and-wiper setup is also included, which may seem like a small addition but makes a noticeable difference when dealing with dusty highways or monsoon use.

The interior is very similar to the B6, retaining the touchscreen, storage pockets and fabric upholstery. For buyers who frequently travel in low visibility conditions or on semi-urban routes, this trim offers a sensible middle ground without increasing the cost of the top-spec version.

Mahindra Bolero: B8

sitting on ₹ 9.69 lakh, the B8 variant is the most complete and lifestyle-ready version of the Bolero Classic. It gets a chrome-enhanced grille, factory-fitted fog lamps and diamond-cut alloy wheels that ultimately give the SUV a slightly ambitious look. Mahindra has also introduced a new Stealth Black paint shade exclusively for this trim along with Diamond White, Rocky Beige and DSAT Silver.

On the inside, leatherette upholstery replaces fabric seats, giving a more premium feel, while all the convenience features like power windows, central locking, touchscreen infotainment, digital cluster and USB charging port remain standard. It also carries forward visibility enhancements and rear wash-wipe functionality, making it the most ownership-friendly Bolero for private buyers who still want strength but don't want to compromise on basic features.

British PM Starmer's visit to promote auto industry. here's why…

  • UK-India trade deal cuts tariffs, boosts auto and defense cooperation, boosts £1.3 billion Indian investment in Britain, and targets £25.5 billion trade growth by 2040.

The recently signed UK-India trade agreement is set to reshape bilateral economic relations in the automotive and defense sectors. During his two-day visit to India, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hailed the agreement as a foundation for deeper commercial cooperation between the two countries.

Preferred Source Banner
Preferred Source Banner

The agreement, signed in July 2025, aims to cut tariffs on key goods including textiles, whiskey and automobiles. It also provides greater market access for businesses in both countries and is expected to increase trade by £25.5 billion (approximately) 3,025 billion pounds by 2040. Within just three months of signing, trade and investment between India and the UK has already increased by £6 billion (approx.) 711 billion), reflecting an early surge in confidence among industries.

Impact on automotive sector

The reduction in tariffs on cars is expected to be a game-changer for the automotive industry in both countries. For Indian automakers, the deal provides easier access to the UK market, opening the door for brands like Tata Motors, Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki to expand exports of electric and small cars. This supports India's goal of becoming a global EV manufacturing hub, aligning with “Make in India” and green mobility initiatives.

For British carmakers, lower import duties will make luxury brands like Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin and Bentley more competitive in India. With tariffs on high-end vehicles reduced, Indian consumers may see more affordable luxury car prices in the coming years. It could also encourage joint research and development in clean mobility solutions, as both countries emphasize sustainability and innovation in transportation.

New investment commitments

UK confirms 64 Indian companies will collectively invest £1.3 billion ( 153.4 billion in the UK across all sectors including automotive manufacturing, clean energy and tech startups). “This is just the beginning. This is the time to invest in the United Kingdom, to invest in this relationship and to invest in our shared future,” Starmer said while addressing business leaders at the India-UK CEO Forum.

Political context and perspective

Despite occasional differences over geopolitical issues such as the Russia–Ukraine conflict, both governments stressed that their economic partnership remains strong. PM Modi emphasized the “unique synergy” between India's growth dynamism and the UK's expertise, while Starmer reaffirmed his commitment to operationalizing the trade deal within a year. For India, the deal not only boosts trade but also strengthens its quest for industrial modernisation, self-reliance and global competitiveness in key sectors such as automotive, defense and clean energy.

The newly unveiled Aston Martin DB12 S has been improved mechanically and aesthetically.

Aston Martin has unveiled the DB12 S, a more performance-oriented version of its DB12 grand tourer. The Aston Martin DB12 S featured additional power, revised chassis tuning and aerodynamic improvements. The model extends the company's long-standing “S” tradition of being the top-performing derivative in its lineup, a practice dating back to the 1953 DB3s.

Preferred Source Banner
Preferred Source Banner

While Aston Martin remains a niche brand in India, known for its exclusive sports cars, the DB12 S will appeal to a limited number of Indian buyers.

What are the mechanical improvements to the Aston Martin DB12 S?

The DB12 S uses an updated version of Aston Martin's 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This unit is now ready to deliver 690 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. Claimed results are a 0-100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 325 km/h.

Changes include revised gearbox calibration for quicker gear shifts. The carmaker claims they are now 50 percent faster, and throttle response has also been improved. The launch control system has also been optimized for better traction and acceleration.

The exhaust system has also been redesigned with a quad-tailpipe setup, which has been tuned to deliver a deeper tone. Buyers can opt for the titanium exhaust, which is 11.7 kg lighter and slightly louder by 1.5dB, which comes at an additional cost.

Aston Martin DB12 S: Specifications

drivetrain Rear-wheel Drive

What else has changed in the hardware of the Aston Martin DB12 S?

To match the increase in power, the DB12 S receives several mechanical updates. Aston Martin engineers have re-tuned the Bilstein DTX dampers for better roll control, while a stiffer rear anti-roll bar and revised suspension geometry improve agility.

Carbon ceramic brakes (CCB), 410 mm front and 360 mm rear discs are also standard on the car, reducing unsprung mass by 27 kg compared to conventional steel brakes. This not only improves ride comfort but also enhances braking stability during high-performance driving.

A new Corner Braking Control (CBC) system, integrated with the car's electronic stability and traction systems. This helps maintain stability during trail braking and tight cornering.

Aston Martin DB12 S
The fixed spoiler at the rear completes the look while making the car aerodynamic.

What are the design and aerodynamic differences of the Aston Martin DB12 S?

The DB12 S carries forward the same basic silhouette as the standard model but adds subtle aerodynamic and styling modifications.

  • A dual-element front splitter and new bonnet louvers improve cooling and generate additional downforce.
  • Gloss black side sills and discreet 'S' badges add contrast and visual width.
  • At the rear, a fixed spoiler and a wide diffuser accommodate the stacked quad exhausts, improving high-speed stability.

These additions give the car a more purposeful appearance while maintaining the distinctive aesthetics of Aston Martin's design language.

What does the interior of the Aston Martin DB12 S look like?

The interior of the DB12 S retains the layout of the standard model but adds distinctive accents to distinguish it as the top-tier version. The drive mode controller gets a red anodized finish, which is mirrored in the seatbelts, stitching and headrest embroidery.

Standard features include 16-way Sport Plus seats with optional carbon fiber performance seats for lighter weight. Three cabin themes are offered: Accelerate, Inspire S (semi-aniline + Alcantara), and Inspire S (full semi-aniline leather), each featuring 'S' herringbone quilting and Alcantara headlining.

Optional additional features include an Alcantara-wrapped heated steering wheel and embossed and debossed seat headrests with Aston Martin wings, a first for the brand.

Aston Martin DB12 S
The new Aston Martin DB12 S features a luxurious yet modern interior.

Will Aston Martin DB12 S come to India?
