India's cheapest 7 seater SUV
This is the most affordable 3-row SUV in the country. At present it has no direct competitor. Other 3-row electric cars available under Rs 50 lakh are the Kia Carens EV and BYD eMax 7, but both of them fall in the MPV category, so cannot be compared with the XEV 9S. Interested customers can register their choices from December 14, while its test drive will start from December 5. Booking and delivery will start from January 14 and January 23, 2026 respectively.
Design of this new SUV
XEV 9e is a mix of XUV 700 – The front of the SUV is similar to the XEV 9e with a connected bar and headlight setup. But the sides and rear are similar to the XUV700. However, a new tail-lamp setup has been given in the rear. This eSUV rides on 18-inch aero-style alloy wheels. Talking about dimensions, the SUV has a long wheelbase of 2,762 mm, which provides more space inside the cabin. There is good space for third row passengers also. Talking about luggage space, the SUV has 527 liters of boot space and 150 liters of trunk storage space.
interior
Talking about the interior, it has many features like XEV9e. Mahindra has tried to provide almost every feature in it, which makes it even more futuristic. It includes triple 12.3-inch screen setup, second row sliding and ventilated seats, level 2+ ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 16 Harman Kardon sound system, 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, dual wireless charging (front and rear), powered boss mode, AR HUD, carpet lamps, rear sunshade, intelligent adaptive suspension, auto booster lamps, Acoustic laminated door glass, NFC key and much more are available.
powertrain
There are surprises in the powertrain too – along with the 59kWh (228bhp and 380Nm) and 79kWh (282bhp and 380Nm) battery packs found in the XEV models, the 7-seater SUV also gets a new 70kWh (241bhp and 380Nm) battery pack. Mahindra claims that this SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds and its top speed is 202 km/h.
