Yamaha FZRave Launch: Yamaha Motor India launches XSR155, FZ-Rave, Arox Electric and EC-06 electric scooters in Mumbai, FZ-Rave is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh and competes with the Suzuki Gixxer 150. The company has launched it with aggressive pricing so that it can give tough competition to the already popular bikes in this segment in the market.
New Delhi. Yamaha Motor India recently introduced two new motorcycles and two electric scooters at an event held in Mumbai. Yamaha XSR155 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 1.50 lakh, while Yamaha FZ-Rave is available at Rs 1.17 lakh (all, ex-showroom, Delhi). Yamaha Aerox Electric and EC-06 electric scooters also made their official debut at this event and also unveiled their features.

The Yamaha FZ-Rave's engine and many components are shared with the FZ-S models; However, its design and styling is different. It comes in two color options – Metallic Black and Matte Titan. Talking about the engine, the Yamaha FZ-Rave is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine, which comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine generates maximum power of 12.4bhp and torque of 13.3Nm. The bike has disc brakes at both ends, which are supported by single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).

The new FZ-Rave has 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels. It has a fuel tank capacity of 13-litres, seat height of 790mm and ground clearance of 165mm. The bike weighs 136kg, making it 1kg lighter than the FZ-S.

The Yamaha FZ-Rave looks sportier than other FZ models, with a futuristic headlight design, all-LED lighting setup and red wheels. The bike has a small LCD console that shows fuel level, speed, odometer and multiple tripmeter readouts.

With its competitive pricing, the new Yamaha FZ-Rave directly rivals the Suzuki Gixxer 150, Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V. Compared to Yamaha FZ-S Fi, it is cheaper by Rs 6,745.
