New Delhi. BMW has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) at the ongoing IAA Mobility Show in Munich, Germany. It is being called BMW IX3, which is the first production model based on Neue Klasse platform. Apart from the new architecture, BMW has also adopted a new design language which is quite different from the current design philosophy of the brand. Last year, Vision Neue Klasse X concept was previewed, BMW IX3 is expected to come to the end of 2026 for sale in India.

BMW IX3: Design
The new IX3 is quite different from its appearance, which has a completely new front face with a new kidney grill with two vertical slots and single slots at each end. This entire setup has been flanks with a new light signature with slim headlamps. The side profile of the IX3 is accompanied by a clean and plain design with flush fitting door handles and square wheel archas.

These features are also present

The arches are filled as 20-inch alloy wheels standard, with an option to upgrade 22-inch alloys. At the back, the IX3 has a separate interpretation of L-shaped lighting signature that is placed in new raparound clusters. In dimensions, the BMW IX3 has a length of 4,782mm, width 1,895mm and height is 1,635mm. The changes made in front and rear bumpers have improved aerodynamics, causing the drag to 0.24.

BMW IX3: Interiors and Features
The new BMW IX3's cabin layout is a minimalist, with most features either multi-functional 4-spoke steering wheel or a huge 17.9-inch central touchscreen running on BMW OS X. A full-science vision system sits just below the edge of the windscreen. Interior trims come in many themes, which range from sustainable fabrics to leather. M Sport variants make the cabin even better with sports seats, M steering wheels and black high-glaoss accents.

BMW IX3: Paurtrain
Inside the IX3, BMW's EV-only is built on Gen6 architecture which comes with 800V charging compatibility. This platform supports 400 kw DC fast charging which tops up the range of 372km in just 10 minutes. It has a 108.7kwh (net) battery that gives a range of 679-805 km once charged (WLTP bicycle). Using 400 kw DC fast charger, the battery can be charged in 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes. The IX3 will have a dual electric motor setup that will enable all-wheel drive. The combined output from these two motors is 463 bhp and 645 Nm torque. In the case of performance, the IX3 can reach 100 kmph from the standstill in 4.9 seconds. Electric SUV can clock the top speed of 210 kmph.
