The BYD Sealion 7 electric SUV is powered by the automaker's famous Blade battery technology. Two different battery pack options are available in the SUV. The single-motor RWD version offers a range of 482 km on a single charge while the dual-motor AWD promises a range of 456 km. The top-of-the-line Excellence variant with AWD feature gets a larger 91.3 kWh battery pack, which promises a range of 502 km on a single charge. The BYD Sealion 7 is capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 4.5 seconds and can hit a top speed of 215 kmph. The electric SUV produces 523 bhp of power and 690 Nm of peak torque.

Dimensionally, the BYD Sealion 7 measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, 1,620 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. This makes the Sealion 7 electric SUV 30 mm longer than the BYD Seal, while the wheelbase is 10 mm longer than the electric sedan. Also, the BYD Sealion 7 is the tallest electric car from the brand. It is available with 19-inch alloy wheels, while there are also optional 20-inch wheels available.

Vinfast announces its official entry into the Indian market. The Vietnamese electric vehicle maker will launch electric passenger vehicles and electric two-wheelers in the country with the aim of capturing a larger share of both segments of the Indian EV market. The automaker showcased the VF6 and VF7. The automaker is setting up its manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu with an investment of $500 million.

BMW CE 02 production starts at TVS’ Hosur factory

TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad today celebrated their 10-year long partnership. On this milestone, the production of BMW CE 02 started at TVS Motor’s Hosur manufacturing plant. Apart from this, TVS also rolled out the 1,50,000th unit of BMW Motorrad’s 310 cc series of motorcycles. Together, the two companies have developed and launched five iconic motorcycles, including the BMW G 310 R, BMW 310 GS, and BMW G310 RR, along with TVS Motor Company’s flagship motorcycles, TVS Apache RR 310 and the recently launched TVS Apache RTR 310.

The Apache RTR 310 received a lot of appreciation and the manufacturer has started production of the motorcycle. The brand will soon start deliveries and test rides. The motorcycle is priced between 2.43 lakh and 2.64 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

Then there is BMW’s CE 02 electric scooter. As of now, it is not known whether it will go on sale in the Indian market or not. The electric motor uses a belt drive to transfer power and the motor itself produces a max power output of 54.91 Nm at 1,000 rpm. BMW is using a 48 V electrical system.

There are two riding modes, Surf and Flow. Apart from this, there is a reverse gear as well. Other features on offer are an LED headlamp, ABS on the front wheel, a USB-C charging socket, a keyless ride and a 3.5-inch TFT display.

BMW Motorrad has launched the M 1000 R in the Indian market which comes through CBU or Completely Built Up route, because of which it is priced at 33 lakh (ex-showroom). There is also a Competition version which is priced at 38 lakh (ex-showroom).

The motorcycle can be pre-booked at BMW Motorrad India-authorised dealerships and deliveries will begin in January 2024. Powering the M 1000 R is a 999 cc, in-line four-cylinder engine that produces 209 bhp of max power at 14,500 rpm and a peak torque output of 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm.

BMW claims that the M 1000 R has a top speed of 280 kmph and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. BMW offers various riding modes to choose from. There is Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race and Race Pro. The gearbox is also ready for a reverse gear shift pattern and comes with an anti-hopping clutch.

The engine features BMW’s ShiftCam technology. It helps in increasing the torque output in low and mid-range. BMW is using titanium valves, a new spring assembly on the exhaust side, narrower and lighter cam followers and optimised camshafts. The intake system features shorter intake funnels for optimised charge exchange at high engine speeds.

The motorcycle comes with Dynamic Traction Control, Wheelie Control, 6-axis IMU, Engine Brake Control, Traction Control, Wheelie Control, ABS and ABS Pro. The manufacturer now also offers launch control and a pit-lane speed limiter.

Some of the other features that the BMW M 1000 R gets are a 6.5-inch TFT screen, a rear USB port to charge mobile devices, LED lights, electronic cruise control and heated grips.

The Competition version of the BMW M 1000 R bike costs more because it comes with M Carbon wheels, M rider footrest system, M Carbon parts such as rear wheel cover and chain guard, front wheel cover, tank covers, airbox cover with tapes, wind deflector, sprocket cover, the M pillion package as well as the M pillion cover and a milled, fully adjustable M rider footrest system.

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the 2023 BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS globally. The motorcycles are expected to make their way to the Indian market by the end of 2023. Considering the way BMW Motorrad priced its current motorcycles, the new versions are expected to be priced quite competitively.

BMW Motorrad has increased the engine capacity from 853 cc to 895 cc.

The weight of the F 900 GS has gone down by 14 kg. The new GS models also feature two riding modes – Rain and Road as standard. There is Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro optimized for cornering and dynamic brake light. BMW is offering “riding modes Pro” as an option which allows the rider to control engine drag torque control as well as Dynamic Brake Control or DBC.

BMW F 900 GS features a new fuel tank that is significantly lighter than before as it is made up of plastic. The weight of the swingarm has also been decreased and there is a new aluminium stand and brake lever. BMW has also added knuckle guards and heated grips. Apart from this, the Showa up-side down forks in the front are now fully adjustable on the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure.

The off-road capabilities of the F 900 GS are enhanced by a new riding triangle. The footrests are lower, the handlebar is higher and the fuel tank has been redesigned as well. This makes it easier to ride the motorcycle while standing up. The headlamp unit is also new on the F 900 GS and is an LED unit. The turn indicators on all three motorcycles are LEDs as well.

Powering the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure produce 103 bhp of max power at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque output of 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm. On the other hand, the F 800 GS puts out 85 bhp at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque output of 91 Nm at 6,750 rpm.

BMW Motorrad India has launched the updated G 310 motorcycle range in the country for the 2024 model year. The BMW G 310 R, G 310 RR, and G 310 GS get new colour options for MY2024 while retaining the same mechanicals, styling and features. Prices for the 2024 G 310 R start at 2.85 lakh, while the G 310 RR retails at 3 lakh and the G 310 GS is priced at 3.25 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India.

The 2024 BMW G 310 R roadster is now available in the new Style Passion black and grey colour scheme with red highlights. Meanwhile, the 2024 BMW G 310 RR gets a new colour option – Cosmic Black 2 – which brings an all-black paint scheme to the full-faired motorcycle. Lastly, the 2024 BMW G 310 GS adventure tourer gets a new Racing Red colour scheme that brings a feisty red, black and grey paint scheme to the motorcycle.

All the new colour options on either motorcycle will be available alongside the existing colours available on the bikes. That said, there are no changes to the bikes on the mechanical front. The BMW G 310 range draws power from the 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. On the G 310 R and G 310 GS, the motor is tuned for 33.5 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The same unit is tuned to make 34 bhp at 9,700 rpm and 27 Nm at 7,700 rpm on the G 310 RR. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox on all three machines. The engine was most recently updated to meet the latest OBD2 norms and future E20 fuel compliance.

Hardware components include 41 mm USD front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. The bikes get 300 mm front and 240 mm rear single-disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. All three bikes run a 17-inch wheel barring the G 310 GS, which uses a larger 19-inch front alloy with a 17-inch rear wheel, running on dual-sport rubber.
