New Delhi. Nissan Magnite is a popular sub compact SUV in India. It is the most popular product of Nissan's line up in the Indian market. Given the popularity of this car, the company is now going to launch its CNG version. This version will be available as dealer level accessory kit. Recently, Nissan's sister company Reno also launched the CNG kit for its entire line up. These kits can be fit into the entire line up from the Kwid to the Tribe.

This car will be introduced only 1.0-liter Natural aspirated petrol engine with manual gearbox with CNG kit, which is like Reno Kigar CNG. Magnite's CNG version is expected to run up to 18-22 km per kg. However, information about power and torque output with CNG kit has not been revealed yet.

3 year warranty
Magnite CNG will have the same warranty that offers as standard for Nissan's regular SUV – 3 years or 100,000 km, whichever is earlier. In addition, the dealer will offer a 1 -year warranty for the CNG kit. The price of the CNG kit for Reno Kigar is an extra Rs 79,500 on the trim, and the Magnite CNG is expected to be the same premium. The CNG kit will be supplied to the dealers by the Uno Minda Group. It remains to be seen whether the CNG kit will be introduced throughout the line-up or only on selected trims.

Maruti's secret in CNG market
According to data from retail sales found from the vehicle portal, a total of 7,15,213 CNG-Passenger passenger vehicles were sold in India by 4 car manufacturers in the last calendar year, which shows a strong growth of 35 percent year-on-year. Maruti Suzuki has a good hold on this segment with a 71.60 percent market share of 15 models with strong CNG portfolio. Tata Motors and Hyundai are at number two with 16.13 percent and 10.04 percent respectively, while Toyota's market share is 2.21 percent.
