Maruti Suzuki introduces e Vitara in India, with 543 km ARAI range, 49kWh and 61kWh variants, BNCAP 5-star safety, 2026 launch, 2,000 charging points, advanced features. People were also eagerly waiting to know the price of this car. But, at present Maruti has not revealed its price. Booking for this car will start from January.

New Delhi. After a long wait, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the India-spec version of E Vitara in India. This first electric car of the company will be available in 49kWh and 61kWh variants in the country and it has got a range of up to 543 kilometers by ARAI. Bookings for the E Vitara will start soon and its launch is expected in early 2026. Maruti will also make this e-SUV available under subscription and battery-as-a-service (BaaS) schemes.

More than 2,000 charging points
To charge the E Vitara, Maruti Suzuki has installed more than 2,000 charging points in more than 1,100 cities of the country. Additionally, the company has partnered with 13 charging point operators (CPOs) to provide customers with an even larger charging network. Maruti aims to create a network of more than 1 lakh charging points in collaboration with its dealers and CPOs by 2030. The company claims that a charger will be available every 5-10 kilometers, which can be accessed through the 'E for Me' app. Apart from this, Maruti has more than 1,500 EV-ready workshops, where service support and doorstep service will also be provided.

Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Powertrain and Trims
This car will come in FWD setup with two battery pack options. Maruti Suzuki E Vitara will have two battery pack options of 49kWh and 61kWh, both of which will come with front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup. The range for the larger battery pack is rated by ARAI at 543 km. E Vitara will be available in three trims. The base trim Delta will get a 49kWh battery pack, while the Zeta and Alpha trims will get a larger battery pack. Maruti has also confirmed that the E Vitara has received a 5-star safety rating from BNCAP.

Performance and battery
battery pack: It will be available in two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh (LFP – Lithium-Iron-Phosphate).
ARAI Range: The larger 61 kWh battery pack can deliver an ARAI-certified range of up to 543 km on a full charge.
Platform: It is built on the special HEARTECT-e EV platform.
Charging: Can be charged from 0 to 80% in about 45 minutes with DC fast charger.
Drive Modes: It has many drive modes like Eco, Normal and Sport. Snow mode is also provided in some variants for better grip.
Drivetrain: It will mainly come in front-wheel-drive (FWD), and later an ALLGRIP-e 4WD variant may also be available.

  • Large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
  • 10.25-inch multi-information display (digital driver display).
  • Ventilated Seats: Ventilated seats in the front.
  • Powered Driver Seat: 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat.
  • Sunroof: Panoramic sunroof with fixed glass.
  • Wireless Charging: Wireless phone charger.
  • Others: Ambient lighting, Infinity audio system, automatic climate control, and PM2.5 cabin air filter.
  • Safety Features
    Safety Rating: It has received a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash test.
    Airbags: It has 7 airbags (in some variants).
    ADAS: Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features, which include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and autonomous emergency braking.
    Other Safety: 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake (with Auto Hold), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill descent control, and electronic stability control.

New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki presented its first electric car – E Vitara – to the public in January this year. Earlier it was expected to be launched in early 2025, but now it is being launched in September this year. Now we have an exact launch date of this electric SUV. The company has sent the media houses to the 'Block Your Date' invites, which has confirmed its launch date.

Will be launched on 3 September
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is going to be launched in India on 3 September. Made-in-India Suzuki E Vitara made an official debut in the United Kingdom last month. Meanwhile, E Vitara has been seen testing Indian roads several times in the last few months. E Vitara shows Suzuki's new “high-tech and adventure” design Philosophy, which is based on an emotional versatile cruiser concept.

What will be found in the cabin?

Inside the cabin, E Vitara has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 10.1-inch completely digital instrument cluster. It also has premium features like front ventilated seats and 10-way electrical adjustable driver seat. The special thing is that E Vitara will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to be equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in India.

360-degree camera
In the case of safety, the SUV is equipped with 7 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera and several safety features. E Vitara has been built on a new hectare-E platform developed in association with Toyota. It contains integrated exl by mixing electric motors and inverter, which is full of lithium-ayron-phosphate (LFP) battery. This setup has been engineered for sharp performance.

Two battery options
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be offered with two battery options – 49 kwh and 61 kwh. The 49 kwh variant is specially available with 2WD setup and generates 142 bhp and 189 Nm torque. The 61 kwh variant falls into two configurations: a single-motor 2wd that gives 172 bhp and 189 Nm, and a dual-motor AWD variant-located on the top of the range-offers-181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.
