Tata Motors is going to give new excitement to the Indian market by bringing its iconic Sierra nameplate in electric avatar. The original Sierra was launched in 1991, which was India's first domestic SUV. Now its fully electric version is going to come in 2026, which will be positioned between Nexon EV and Curve EV and will be below Harrier EV.

The expected launch date of Tata Sierra EV is in the second quarter of 2026 i.e. between April to June 2026. Unofficial bookings have started at ₹11,000 token. The estimated price is ₹20 to ₹25 lakh ex-showroom, which will make it competitive in the mid-size electric SUV segment. Let us know how special is it going to be?

design details

Talking about design, Sierra EV Neo is made in retro style, which combines the boxy look of the old Sierra with a modern touch. Features like upright stance, flat bonnet, closed-off grille (EV specific), split LED headlamps, full-width LED light bar, flush door handles, muscular bumpers, squared wheel arches and dual-tone roof make it adventure ready.

The rear has wraparound windows and connected LED tail lamps. The panoramic glass roof (alpine style but safety compliant) makes it special. This is a five-door compact SUV, which is different from the three-door model. The design looks more premium and boxy than the Nexon and Curve, which gives an off-road feel.

Cabin and Comfort

The interior is very premium and spacious. Features include floating center console with triple-screen dashboard (12.3-inch digital cluster, central infotainment and passenger display), four-spoke steering wheel (illuminated Tata logo), dual-tone materials, ambient lighting and panoramic sunroof.

Front seats are powered and ventilated, second row ventilation, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, premium audio system (with JBL or Dolby) and connected car tech (iRA app). The cabin is airy and minimalistic, with soft touch materials and wide glass panels creating a light and spacious feel.

Features and safety

The list of features is long. Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, 360-degree camera, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, over-the-air (OTA) updates, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and multiple drive modes. Power tailgate, ambient lighting and connected tech make it as premium as the Harrier EV.

Tata never compromises on safety. Sierra EV will have 6-7 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold assist, TPMS, electronic parking brake and strong structural integrity. There is a 360 camera and other assist features with Level-2 ADAS. A 5-star rating is expected in Bharat NCAP, which will give high safety scores like Tata's EV lineup.

Battery, Motor and Range

It is built on Acti.EV+ platform, which provides multi-layer skateboard design, fast charging and ADAS support. Battery options can be 55 kWh, 65 kWh or 75 kWh. Single motor RWD (about 167 hp) and dual motor AWD (up to 238 hp) configurations will be available. ARAI claimed range is 450-550 km (500+ km real world in some reports), which will be tested on MIDC cycle. Top speed will be up to 170 kmph and DC fast charging support (10-80% fast charge). LFP battery technology will provide long life and safety.

Design and dimensions

Its length is 4220 mm, width is 1915 mm, height is 1845 mm and wheelbase is 2730 mm. The AWD dual motor variant is likely to get 211 PS/292 Nm, 81.76 kWh battery and 501-510 km range. It will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds (AWD). Top speed is up to 140 km/h. The powertrain can be retuned according to Indian roads.

Design and dimensions

Maruti E Vitara is boxy and muscular in style. It has a polyhedral muscular stance, Y-shaped 3-point matrix LED DRLs, sculpted 3D look, 225/55 R18 alloy wheels. Its length is 4275 mm, width is 1800 mm, height is 1640 mm and wheelbase is 2700 mm. It gives an aerodynamic and rugged road presence with a futuristic front fascia.

QWD (all-wheel drive) gets 158 PS induction motor at the front and 238 PS at the rear, totaling 390 bhp (about 396 PS) power and 504 Nm torque. 0-100 kmph can be achieved in just 6.3 seconds and the top speed is 180 kmph. Fast charging takes 250 km range in 15 minutes on a 120 kW DC charger or 25 minutes for 20-80%. AC charging at 7.2 kW takes 10.7 hours from 10-100%. The company is also giving lifetime battery warranty on it.

With the help of fast charging, it can be charged 10-80% in just 45 minutes. Battery warranty is going to be up to 8 years/1.6 lakh km.

Mercedes-Benz has updated its flagship electric SUV, the EQS, for 2026 in India. Available in two versions, the five-seat EQS 450 and seven-seat EQS 580, the EQS is not about dramatic design changes this time, but about refining what is already doing well. Here are five things that show why the 2026 EQS still makes sense.

1. Flagship Positioning

The EQS remains the most expensive and most advanced electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz in India. With prices starting from ₹Going up to Rs 1.34 crore (ex-showroom) for the EQS 450 ₹At Rs 1.48 crore for the EQS 580, it clearly sits above the rest of the brand's EV lineup. In simple words, this is a no-compromise electric SUV from Mercedes.

2. Range

Driving range is still one of the EQS's strongest cards. The EQS 450 is estimated to go 775 km on a single charge, while the EQS 580 goes a step further and claims a range of 809 km. Both use the same 122 kWh battery pack, and while real-world numbers will be lower, these figures put the EQS among the longest-range electric SUVs on sale in India.

3. Strong performance with all-wheel drive

The EQS doesn't scream about performance, but it has plenty of it. The EQS 450 produces 355 bhp and 800 Nm of torque, good for a 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds. The EQS 580 takes things further with 536 bhp and 858 Nm, reducing that speed to 4.8 seconds. Both versions have 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard and a top speed limited to 210 km/h.

4. Fast-charging capability and Airmatic

Mercedes has paired the larger battery with 200kW DC fast-charging support, which allows charging from 10 to 80 percent in a claimed 31 minutes under ideal conditions. Both variants come with AIRMATIC air suspension as standard, which plays a big role in making the EQS feel more comfortable and controlled, especially on long journeys.

5. Extended feature list for 2026

For 2026, Mercedes has made changes that owners will really notice. The AMG Line exterior package, previously limited to the EQS 580, is now available on the EQS 450 as well. Rear seat ventilation, which was previously exclusive to the top variant, has also been reduced. Rear passengers now get an MBUX tablet to control comfort and infotainment, cementing the EQS's focus on driving as well as driving.

It can be equipped with Mercedes' massive MBUX HyperScreen: a seamless curved display that spans multiple screens for driver, central and passenger functions under a glass surface. New Delhi. Skoda has confirmed that the production-ready version of the Vision 7S concept will be called Peak. It will basically be a 7-seater electric SUV, which will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLB and Peugeot e-5008 in the global market. Being a flagship offering, the new Skoda Peak will be the most expensive car from the Czech automaker, costing more than the Enyaq EV. This electric SUV will make its world debut in the summer of 2026, after which its official specifications and price will be announced.

Skoda Peak EV – What to Expect?
The Skoda Vision 7S concept, which was shown at the Bharat Mobility Show last year, may come to India in its production-ready avatar in 2027. This three-row EV, about 4.9 meters long, is expected to be very close to its concept. Like the show car, the cabin of the production-ready Skoda Peak is likely to use sustainable materials such as leather-free upholstery.

Battery and range
The concept shown had an 89kWh battery pack, which claims to give a range of more than 600 km on a single charge as per WLTP. Skoda has also said that the Peak will have fast charging support up to 200kW. It can be offered in both RWD (rear-wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive) configurations.

New Delhi. BYD India has announced changes in the prices of its electric SUV in the domestic market. From January 1, 2026, the price of Sealion 7 Premium variant has now been increased by Rs 50,000. At the same time, the performant variant of the electric SUV will be available at the same price as before. According to the company, only the old prices will be applicable on bookings made on or before December 31, 2025. After the price change on January 1, the BYD Sealion 7 premium model with 82.56 kWh battery will now be available for Rs 49,40,000, which was earlier Rs 48,90,000. Whereas, the price of Sealion 7 Performance model will remain only Rs 54,90,000. This is a big step for the company as this SUV is one of its flagship models. Since its launch in the country, 2,300 units of this SUV have been sold so far.

BYD Sealion 7 has the company's cell-to-body design and blade battery technology. Both variants have 82.56 kWh battery and have received 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. The performance variant has a power of 522 hp and a torque of 690 Nm, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 4.5 seconds. The premium variant produces 308 hp power and 380 Nm torque, and accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. The certified range of these vehicles is up to 567 km as per NEDC cycle.

This is a major upgrade compared to the manual Boss mode currently available in the XUV700 and shows Mahindra's intention to position the 9S as a driver-friendly electric flagship.

The dashboard continues with Mahindra's signature triple-screen layout, consisting of a fully digital instrument cluster, a large central infotainment display and a dedicated passenger-side screen.

The teaser also gives a glimpse of features like ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo and soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. Mahindra XEV 9S: Battery and range
Powertrain details have not been revealed yet, however, the XEV 9S is expected to use the same 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery packs offered in the XEV 9e and BE 6. These units produce 231hp and 286hp respectively, both with 380Nm of torque. The larger battery pack in Mahindra's existing EVs offers a range of over 650 km, so the 9S can support ultra-fast DC charging with the same long-range capability.
