This is one of the most exciting SUV launches of the coming year. However, its official launch date and details have not been revealed yet. The 2026 Toyota Fortuner is likely to share many design elements and features with the globally debuting next-gen Toyota Hilux.

Future Centric Design
Like the new Hilux, the next-gen Fortuner is likely to have a 'future-centric' design language, which includes a redesigned grille, slim headlamps that include LED DRLs, circular fog lamp assemblies and redesigned front and rear bumpers with skid plates.

ADAS and many new features
The interior of the new 2026 Toyota Fortuner may bear a lot of similarity with the Hilux. Adopting Toyota's “Robust Simplicity” philosophy, the SUV may come with a larger, freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a new fully digital instrument cluster, redesigned dashboard, wireless charger and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

latest tech software
The infotainment unit may get the latest gen software, and support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This time, the Fortuner may also be offered with a panoramic view monitor, 'Toyota Safety Sense 3' ADAS suite and a multi-terrain monitor. Features like new steering wheel, premium audio system, height adjustable headrest, multiple Type-C USB charging ports and rear center armrest may also be a part of the package.

The previous engines will remain intact
The new 2026 Toyota Fortuner is expected to retain the existing 2.8L diesel and 2.7L petrol engines in India. The diesel motor, mated to 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox, produces maximum power of 204PS and torque of up to 500Nm. The petrol engine generates power of 166PS and torque of 245Nm. It can be had with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Both RWD and 4WD drivetrains will remain on offer.
