But the fun isn’t over yet with December set to get exciting with multiple launches planned. From full-faired offerings to adventure motorcycles, there’s something for everyone this month.

From the Yamaha R3 to Kawasaki Eliminator 450, here’s a look at the new motorcycles set to arrive in December

We’ve put together the most exciting motorcycle launches that we can’t wait for in December 2023.

2024 Kawasaki Eliminator 450
The 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator gets a long-stroke 451 cc parallel-twin motor and will see the iconic nameplate make a comeback

1. Kawasaki Eliminator 450

The Eliminator nameplate is all set to make a comeback to India with Kawasaki ready to introduce the Eliminator 450 later this month. The bike made its global debut earlier this year and gets the quintessential cruiser design with modern touches, while power will come from a 451 cc parallel-twin motor. The new Eliminator will debut at the India Bike Week 2023 scheduled on December 8-9, 2023.

2. Aprilia RS 457

The Aprilia RS 457 full-faired sportbike will be showcased at IBW 2023. Aprilia’s first made-in-India motorcycle holds a lot of promise, especially with its 457 cc parallel-twin motor churning out 47 bhp. Aprilia India could go a step further and announce prices at the motorcycle festival while also beginning to accept bookings.

3. 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT and Tiger 900 Rally Pro

The updated Triumph Tiger 900 GT and Tiger 900 Rally Pro could also be unveiled at IBW 2023. The 2024 Tiger 900 range gets subtle upgrades to the powertrain for improvements in power and torque, along with a new TFT instrument console and more. Expect prices to start from 14 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Also on display will be Triumph’s new single-cylinder 400 twins.

4. Yamaha R3

Making a grand comeback to India will be the all-new Yamaha R3 on December 15, 2023. The motorcycle is all set to come here in a new generation and a completely new avatar over its predecessor. Power will come from the 321 cc parallel-twin motor and prices are expected to start around 4 lakh (ex-showroom).

5. Yamaha MT-03

Coming to India for the first time will be the Yamaha MT-03, the naked version based on the R3. Both bikes share the same 321 cc twin-cylinder engine but get the alien-face design language borrowed from Yamaha’s bigger streetfighter range. The MT-03 is expected to be priced from 3.70 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Fun fact, IBW and MotoSoul venues are not too far from each other.

Kia to announce its future EV vision, display new concept EVs on October 12

South Korean automaker Kia will observe ‘Kia EV Day’ on October 12 in Yeoju, Korea, where it will shed light on its future EV roadmap and display its entire EV lineup including two new concept EVs. During the event, the company will announce its global vision and strategy for battery-powered vehicles. The move is in line with the OEM’s vision to become a key player in sustainable mobility.

The Kia EV Day event in mid-October will see the company displaying its entire EV lineup, including the Kia EV5, EV6 GT and EV9, as well as two new concept EVs.

The event is set to become an annual tradition for the company, starting this year, wherein it will encourage stakeholders to discuss about sustainable mobility and future growth plans. At the event, Kia will showcase its new electric models, concepts, and technologies.

The event in mid-October will see the company displaying its entire EV lineup, including the Kia EV5, EV6 GT and EV9. The EV5 was launched at the Chengdu Motor Show in August this year, and during the event, attendees will be given a detailed specification of the electric model. Kia will also introduce two new concept EVs.

Kia introduced the EV5 in production model in China last month, which comes as an all-electric alternative to the Kia Sportage. The compact electric SUV is slated to launch in China later this year before being introduced to other markets.

The EV6 GT debuted last year in August and the brand claims it to be the most powerful Kia production vehicle ever. With 800V multi-charging architecture, the Kia EV6 GT is ultra-fast DC charging enabled, implying that it can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in under 18 minutes.

The event will also see keynote speakers taking the stage to shed light upon topics significant to Kia’s transition to a sustainable mobility solutions provider. Subjects will include the brand’s comprehensive EV strategy, its ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, updates on innovative customer experience strategies, and new product insights.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge in Carbon Steel Grey Matte unveiled, bookings open

Volkswagen has unveiled a new colour scheme for its Edge variants of the Virtus GT. The new paint scheme is called Carbon Steel Grey Matte and it will be available in limited units. The pre-bookings are now open online and the deliveries will start in October. The price of the new colour scheme has not yet been announced.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge in Carbon Steel Grey Matte

The limited edition version gets a few upgrades over the standard Virtus GT. It comes with unique colour schemes – Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte. The Deep Black Pearl costs 17.10 lakh ex-showroom for the manual gearbox and 18.77 lakh ex-showroom for the automatic gearbox. The interior and the exterior get red accents to enhance the looks and give a feel of sportiness to the Virtus. Apart from the red accents, the exterior also gets red brake calipers.

The driver gets aluminium pedals and the upholstery has cherry red stitching on the leatherette seat and front centre armrest to enhance the sporty look. The ambient lighting is also now red.

The GT Edge variants of the Virtus are dedicated to automotive enthusiasts. It comes with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 148 bhp of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Having said that, the customer can still opt for the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The engine also features ACT or Active Cylinder Technology which shuts down two cylinders of the engine under light load. This helps in enhancing the fuel efficiency. Volkswagen claims a fuel efficiency figure of 18.67 kmpl for the DCT version.

The price of the Volkswagen Virtus starts at 11.48 lakh ex-showroom. It competes against the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Honda City 5th gen and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

The standard colours of the Virtus are Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel Grey, Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red and Rising Blue Metallic.
