Hero Glamor X125 First Ride Review: Setting New Benc in the segment

Hero Glamor X125 First Ride Review: Setting New Benc in the segment

  • 2025 Hero Glamor X125 is brought into sporty style, LED lights, Bluetooth console, three ride mode and cruise control commutary segment. Here is our first ride review.

Glamor X 125 is a good looking motorcycle. It is introduced in five color options. (HT Auto/ Partha Khatri)

Commuter segment in motorcycle is one of the most important segments in India. However, recently, the priority of consumers has been changing; They do not want just a commuter motorcycle. They want something that is slightly more papi, alive, and it is a bit stylish. In the last five financial years, it has increased by 19 percent with sales data standing close to 3.6 lakh units.

Hero MotoCorp is already selling three 125 cc motorcycles in India. Glamor, Xtreme is 125R, and super splendor, but the brand says all these motorcycles complete a variety of riders. Now, the fourth motorcycle is added to the lineup. It is glamor X, and it is considered the most futuristic 125 cc motorcycle in the section. We got to test Hero's claim in Jaipur, and here we think about the new glamor x 125.

2025 Hero Glamor X 125: How is the design?

Glamor X looks aggressive due to its muscle fuel tank, chunky grab tail and tank shroud.

Hero has changed the designed quotient for Glamor X125 to a great extent. At first glance, it will not look like your specific commuter. It provides a large tank shroud with an invasive LED headlamp with a h-shaped fly screen with an H-shaped element with a muscular fuel tank with an invasive LED headlamp with a muscle fuel tank. The seat is quite long and is quite a chunky grab rail for Pasar. At the back, there is an LED tail lamp, which again receives an H-shaped element inside it. Some people may see that the tail lamp is borrowed from Xtreme 250R. There are also LED turn indicators on the offer on the top-end variants.

2025 Hero Glamor X 125: What are the features on the offer?

The digital instrument cluster is very bright and comes with an ambient sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness.

Glamor X 125 is decorated in terms of features. It comes with three riding mode – Eco, Power and Road. These ride-by-wire are connected to the throttle that changes the engine map, on the basis of which the riding mode is rider. There is a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and also has an ambient light sensor so that it can automatically adjust the brightness. The motorcycle also comes with all LED lighting. There is also a small undersigation storage that comes in handy to store small items or a toolbox. However, recovering the seat was quite exercise, to the extent that most people were not able to recover the seat. The motorcycle also comes with a panic brake alert and a USB Type C port to charge mobile devices.

2025 Hero Glamor X 125: Cruise Control

The cruise control button is placed on the right switch gear and is quite easy to use.

Cruise control is the biggest feature that the riders will be able to experience. There are two criteria that the rider needs to meet to attach cruise control. The bike should be in the third gear and the speed should be above 35 kmph. Once you meet the criteria, the rider simply needs to click on the button on the ride switch gear, followed by a cruise control icon on the instrument cluster which will be blinking. Now, bus switches and cruise control will continue. Rider can also increase or reduce speed. To separate the cruise control, the rider can tap, throwl, pull the clutch or simply use the cruise control button. Honestly, I still do not really know the use of cruise control in a motorcycle, which will be used mostly in the city, but this feature is well integrated, and it works quite well.

2025 Hero Glamor X 125: How is the ride and handling?

Given that it is a commuter, the suspension setup of the glamor X is on the soft side. It absorbs most pits and ensures that the rides are comfortable. However, sharp bumps still filter, especially if you are riding at high speeds. And whenever there is a collision, the fly screen goes too much. In addition, it is quite neutral in terms of handling and it follows the input of the rider. In the context of the riding triangle, it is quite comfortable with the handler within the rider's reach, a little forward-set footpeles and a comfortable seat.

2025 Hero Glamor X 125: How are the brakes?

The rear tail lamp is borrowed from the Xtreme 250R. There are also LED turn indicators on the disc version.

Hero is selling Glamor X 125 in two variants – drums and discs. We only ride the disc version, and strangely, felt like a front brake drum brake. It had no bite, due to which I was only relying on the rear brake, which was still very decent, but it would stop when it was pressed. Such quality issues are a bit ashamed that we ride the Xtreme 250R when we faced a similar issue, which was also fishing even when applying brakes.

2025 Hero Glamor X 125: How is the performance?

The engine is shared with Xtreme 125R and is a smooth unit that comes with three riding mode.

The new glamor X shares its engine with Xtreme 125R. It is a 124.7 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that puts 11.39 bhp of Max Power at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm peak torque output at 6,500 rpm. The engine is smooth with a buzz in its reve range that starts construction and then turns into a vibration but it is only in the top-end. The throttle is a bit sensitive because it has no 'give' or sports. Therefore, as soon as you touch the throttle, ravs climb. It can be done slightly down. There are three riding modes that change the engine behavior of how keen the engine feels. The 5-speed gearbox is smooth and the clutch action is also lighter.

2025 Hero Glamor X 125: Decisions

Overall, Glamor X 125 looks like a good package. This will attract customers who are looking for a motorcycle that does not look like your typical plain gen commutor, but it is not as aggressive as we are seeing in the market now. Glamor X 125 sits right between these two types of motorcycles. Saying that, Hero MotoCorp should look at the quality issues there.
