New Delhi. Honda Cars India has recently launched its new generation Amaze sedan in the Indian market. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 8 lakh. This is the first sedan in the segment, in which modern features like Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) have been provided. Honda has introduced it in three variants – V, VX and ZX.

Since the start of booking, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the customers regarding this. The company has claimed that the top-spec ZX variant contributes more than 60% to its bookings. The ex-showroom price of ZX variant is Rs 10.90 lakh.

Equipped with segment-first features
The new generation Amaze ZX has features like 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and segment-first camera-based ADAS setup. Apart from this, it also includes features like LED projector headlamps, push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, wireless charging, rear AC vent, auto headlamps and wipers, rearview and lane-watch camera. Honda has also given the customers the option of optional seat cover, which provides facilities like ventilation and massage function.

There will be direct competition with Desire
The new Amaze is expected to face tough competition from the country's most popular sedan, Maruti Dezire, in the market. Features like 360-degree camera and sunroof are available in the top variant ZXI+ of Dezire, which are not provided in Amaze. However, in terms of price, Desire ZXI+ (Rs 10.14 lakh) is cheaper than Honda Amaze ZX.

Great engine and mileage
The new generation Amaze has a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, which generates power of 89 bhp and peak torque of 110 Nm. It is offered with 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox options. The mileage of the manual variant is 18.65 km per liter and the mileage of the CVT variant is 19.46 km per liter.

Big improvement in terms of safety
The old generation Amaze got only a 2-star rating in the crash test, but safety has been given priority in the new Amaze. A total of 28 safety features have been provided in it, which include standard 6 airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Lane Watch Camera, Emergency Stop Signal, 3-point seatbelts on all seats and seat-belt reminder. These features can help it get a 5-star crash rating.

Delivery and Test Drive
Honda has announced that the test drive of the new Amaze will start from December 16, 2024 and its delivery will start by the end of December. The modern design of the new Amaze, great features and safety along with affordable price make it a great option for Indian customers.
