Honda Cars India is struggling in the Indian market. The company will soon launch the elevate SUV with the new Poetrain. Elevate Hybrid will come in 2026, which will compete with Grand Vitara and Hyurider.

New Delhi. Honda Cars India is seen struggling in India's automobile market. The company's cell figures have been seen falling continuously for the last few years. Currently, the Japanese automobile manufacturer sells 3 models in the Indian market, including the city, elevate and its best -selling car, Amaze. The company's portfolio is the city only sedan available with hybrid technology.

New elevate SUV
Now the company will soon launch the elevate SUV with the new powertrain to boost its sale. The car manufacturer also revealed that the elevate hybrid would be launched around the festive season of 2026.

Mid-size hybrid SUV

According to Moneycontrol, Honda will introduce a mid-size hybrid SUV in 2026, which will compute with Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyrider. The production of elevate hybrid is already running in Alwar, Rajasthan at Tapkara plant in Honda. According to Moneycontrol, City Hybrid has a 12 % share in the total cell, so the SUV's hybrid variant will help Honda to increase its numbers and stay in the market.

Engine and power
City Hybrid is powered with a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine with Atkinson bicycle, two electric motors and a battery. Its total output is 125 bhp and its mileage is 27.26 km per liter. Like City Hybrid, elevate hybrid will also come with Honda Sensing or Level 2 ADAS. It will have features like Colegen Mitigation Breaking System (CMBS), Low Speed Follows with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, Lead Car Departure Notification System, Road Departure Mitigation System and Auto High-Beam.

Honda Elevate prices hiked for the new year by up to ₹58,000

The hike is in line with Honda’s announcement in December 2023 to increase prices for the new year. It also marked the end of the Elevate’s introductory prices ranging between 11 lakh and 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV has gotten off to a good start and the model recently crossed the 20,000 sales mark.

The Honda Elevate is offered with only the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine tuned to produce 119 bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The model is decently packed with features and gets a 10.25-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also wireless charging, Honda Connect, soft-touch door and dashboard inserts, and a 7-inch TFT digital instrument console.

Honda Elevate: Safety

The Honda Elevate also comes equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), multi-angle rearview cameras, reverse parking sensors, and more. The SUV is offered in four trims – SV, V, VX and ZX with all but the base variants.

The Elevate takes on several offerings including the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor. The model will soon face heat from the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift, set to arrive later this month.
