Keep money ready! 3 cool 'Japanese' cars are going to enter India

New Delhi. Japanese automobile companies – Honda and Nissan are going to launch their new models soon. Both the brands have already shared their plans and here is the list of SUVs of these companies coming in 2026.

Upcoming Japanese SUV – Honda Sub-4 Meter SUV
Honda is currently preparing to enter the sub-4 meter SUV segment. The company has announced that it will soon launch a new SUV to compete with Nexon, which is expected by next year. This new SUV will share its platform and many features with Honda Amaze. Talking about the design, a boxy design can be seen in it, which means it will not look like Amaze. Talking about the features, the same features as Amaze can be found in it, but some new features like big touchscreen, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, sunroof, digital instrument cluster etc. can also be seen.

1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine
Talking about the engine, the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine can be given in it, although the company can tune it for better performance. Later, the option of factory fitted CNG kit may also come in it.

Nissan Tekton Nissan has also confirmed the launch of Tekton SUV next year. Nissan Techton will compete with SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Highrider. The company has already shown the design of this SUV, which gives it a baby-patrol like look. However, the interiors have not been revealed yet. It is expected that it will get features like Duster SUV, like 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless connectivity, ventilated and powered seats, panoramic sunroof, ADAS, 360-degree camera etc.

1.3-litre turbo petrol
Talking about the engine, Duster engine options can also be found in it. It can be offered with 1.3-litre turbo petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol or 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Honda has recently showcased its 0 Alpha SUV, which may hit Indian roads in the second half of 2026. This model will be based on Elevate and will share many of its features. Despite this, it will be positioned above the Elevate in the company's lineup, which means its design may be taller. Some of the features available in it are – triple screen display, Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, high-resolution display, ventilated seats and all the features required for a modern SUV.

Battery pack between 55kWh to 75kWh
We have already shared some special features of this SUV. The new Honda is expected to get a battery pack between 55kWh and 75kWh (which will compete with SUVs like Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curve EV and Hyundai Creta EV), with the larger battery pack giving a range of around 450+ km in real life.

New Delhi. Honda company has updated its portfolio and launched a new version of its popular SUV Elevate, which is named Honda Elevate ADV Edition. This new model is more stylish and attractive than the old version. It is at the top of the Elevate range, meaning it is its top model. To attract customers, the company has made many changes in the new model, due to which it comes with a sporty look. Let us tell you about its features and price.

Major changes have been made in the exterior design, giving it a sporty look. It has a redesigned grille, which has been given a touch of orange color. The vehicle has blacked-out roof rails, ADV badging and black finished alloy wheels with orange accents. There is orange detailing on the entire body, which makes it more attractive. Customers get dual-tone color options, which include Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Lunar Silver Metallic.

Changes have also been made in the interior, where an all-black layout has been given. There is orange stitching on the seats, doors and gear lever. Illuminated garnish with ADV Terrain pattern has been installed on the dashboard, which gives a unique identity to the cabin at night.

No changes have been made in the engine. It has the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine, which generates maximum power of 121 PS and peak torque of 145 Nm. It is available with a six-speed manual or seven-speed CVT automatic gearbox. The 220 mm ground clearance of the vehicle remains the same as before.

Advanced Honda Sensing ADAS Suite

In terms of safety, it has been provided with advanced Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking. Apart from this, it also has features like 360-degree camera (optional), Lanewatch side camera, six airbags and hill start assist.

The starting ex-showroom price of Honda Elevate ADV Edition in Delhi is ₹ 15.29 lakh, which goes up to ₹ 16.66 lakh for the top model. This model comes with three years unlimited kilometer warranty and anytime warranty support of up to a decade.

The company aims to increase sales and market share in the rapidly growing Indian Passenger Vehicle (PV) market. Toshihiro Mibe, Director, President, Honda Motor Company Limited said that the brand is finalizing strategies for the Indian market amid changes in global markets. The company sees North America, Japan and India as its major markets.

Mibe said, India will be a priority market and this is the market where we want to focus more. At Honda, we have formed a project team specifically for the Indian market which is now working on formulating the strategy for the Indian market. For example, he said the way Honda's two-wheelers are performing well in the Indian market with Indian suppliers and OEMs. Similarly, similar partnerships can be formed for the car business to maximize localization in the country.

Plan to introduce 10 more models in India by 2030
Elaborating on the plans, Honda Cars India President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Takashi Nakajima said that the company has aggressive plans for the country. He said, we are planning to introduce 10 more models in India by 2030. With SUVs becoming mainstream, 7 out of 10 models will be from this segment.

Only one model in SUV segment
The company currently sells only one SUV model 'Elevate' in the market. Along with this, two other vehicles of sedan segment Amaze and City are also available.

Honda 0 Alpha will be produced in India
Honda is planning to produce its next generation electric car 'Honda 0 Alpha' in India. Later it will also use it for export to Japan and some other Asian countries. This model is expected to be available for sale in India and Japan in 2027.

Honda will launch a new hybrid and electric SUV on the PF2 platforms in India in 2026-2027, including Honda elevate, Ace project and 50-70 percent exports.

New Delhi. To get back its steady market shares in the Indian market, Honda is planning to launch several new SUVs by 2030, including petrol, electric and hybrid powertrain. The car manufacturer will also introduce a new global platform – PF2, which will base the models of small and mid -size of Honda. The PF2 Architecture debut will be with a premium three-and SUV, which is going to come in 2027. The new generation Honda City sedan and a new subscriber SUV will also be designed on this platform.

How long will it be launched?
The Honda Hybrid SUV for India is planning to enter the Japanese and Hybrid SUV segment in 2026-2027. Its first Hybrid SUV in India will be Honda Elevate, which will probably debut during the festive season in the second half of 2026. While official powertrain details have not yet been revealed, Honda Eleivet Hybrid's City E: HEV is expected to share the Atkinson Cycle 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine.

Two electric motors

In the sedan, this motor comes with two electric motors – one acts as a generator and the other provides propulsion. The setup with the E-CVT gearbox offers 26.5kmpl mileage and a driving range of about 1,000km.

50-70 % export
Honda Electric SUV for India will hit the roads between Honda's first electric SUV April 2026 – March 2027. Unlike earlier media reports, Takashi Nakajima, president and CEO of HCIL, has confirmed that it will not be a base on the elevate. Instead, the new EV brand will be developed under the Ace (Asian compact electric) project. About 50-70 percent of the local-produced units will be reserved for export market.

Honda said that the new Elevate accounted for over 50 per cent of total sales for the company in the last three months. It has also helped HCIL’s sales grow by 11 per cent between September and November year-on-year. The company also revealed that the CVT automatic remains in higher demand on the SUV.

Prices for the Elevate start from 11 lakh, going up to 16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The introductory prices are valid till the end of December 2023. Honda India also exports the SUV to several markets internationally including Japan.
