The wait is over! Tomorrow Maruti's brand will be curtained from New SUV
New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki's much awaited new midsize SUV will be available for sale in India tomorrow (i.e. 3 September 2025). The name of this model will be announced at the time of launch. However, it can be called 'Maruti Victoris'. Till now, this new Maruti SUV was being known as 'Maruti Escudo'. Based on the Grand Vitara, Victoris will be sold through the Arena dealership network. In Maruti Suzuki's product portfolio, it will be placed above the braza and under the Grand Vitara.

Budget will be fit
Victoris can be offered as a slightly more affordable option than the Grand Vitara. In the Midsize SUV segment, it will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Celtos, Honda Elivet, Skoda Kushak, Folkswagen Tigun and Toyota Hyurore. Let's know the major details of the upcoming Maruti Victoris SUV which have been revealed so far.

1.5L Atkinson Cycle Petrol Hybrid

This new Maruti SUV will probably share its powertrain with Grand Vitara, which is currently available with 103bhp, 1.5L K15C Petrol, 116bhp, 1.5L Atkinson Cycle Petrol Hybrid and 88bhp, CNG options. This will be Maruti Suzuki's third hybrid offering and second midsize SUV that will challenge Creta. The transmission will also be taken from the Grand Vitara which includes a 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and E-CVT (only hybrid).

What is special?
Victoris will be the first Maruti Suzuki with a factory-fitted underbody CNG tank. This setup will concentrate that engine, transmission, suspension and brakes are better integrated and calibrated. This will also increase boot space, which usually reduces the tank's boot area in other Maruti CNG cars. The base variant of the new Maruti SUV is expected to be slightly expensive than Brezza but Grand Vitara is expected to be cheaper. Entry-level petrol-manual variants can cost around Rs 10 lakh or Rs 10.50 lakh, while the top-end variant with hybrid powertrain can go up to Rs 19 lakh (all, ex-showrooms).
