Hyundai Creta has dominated the compact and mid-size SUV segment in India for a long time. However, many new and updated models are going to be launched in the coming days which are ready to give it a tough competition. The most popular of these include the all-new Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq facelift and Nissan Tekton.

All New Renault Duster
The return of Duster is the biggest update for the Indian market. It was unveiled in January 2026 and is scheduled to be launched with prices announced on March 10. The new gen Duster is built on the CMF-B platform, with 212 mm ground clearance, bold front grille, LED lights and rugged look. This comeback of Renault Duster is being seen as a value-for-money SUV in the segment.
Engine options include 1.0-litre turbo petrol (about 100 bhp) and 1.3-litre turbo petrol (163 bhp, 280 Nm). The most special is the 1.8-litre Strong Hybrid E-Tech variant, which will be available by Diwali 2026 and can run in 80% electric mode. The interior has features like triple-screen dashboard, 10.1-inch infotainment, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera and 6 airbags. Estimated price ranges between ₹10-21 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Skoda Kushaq
It has been introduced in January 2026 and deliveries will start from March 2026. The updated Kushaq makes its entry with a modern solid design language, which includes illuminated grille, rear LED light bar, new alloy wheels and Monte Carlo trim. Engine options will remain only 1.0 TSI (115 bhp) and 1.5 TSI (150 bhp). Now 8-speed torque converter automatic will be available with 1.0 and 7-speed DSG will be available with 1.5.
Features include upgrades like 10.25-inch digital cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, rear massage function, 6 airbags and 360-degree camera. Pre-bookings start at ₹15,000 and the estimated price will be between ₹11-19 lakh. Kushaq is known for its European build quality, driving dynamics and space, which will give a more premium feel than the Creta.
Nissan Tekton
It is based on the Renault Duster (CMF-B platform), but comes with Nissan's design DNA. Nissan Patrol Inspired's bold look, LED light bar, muscular stance and premium interior give it a distinct identity. Engine options will also be shared with Duster, which include 1.0-litre turbo, 1.3-litre turbo and 1.8-litre hybrid.
Features will include 10.1-inch infotainment, 10.25-inch cluster, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera and panoramic sunroof. Estimated price is between ₹11-20 lakh, launch expected around March-May 2026. This model of the company can create a stir in the market with its refined design and value.
