Hyundai Motor India launches Prime HB and Prime SD taxi ranges, priced at Rs 5,99,900 and Rs 6,89,900, with 1.2 liter engine, factory fitted CNG, multiple safety features.

New Delhi. Hyundai Motor India, entering the commercial mobility segment, has launched the Prime Taxi range – Prime HB (i10 hatchback) and Prime SD (Aura sedan). The price of Hyundai Prime HB has been kept at Rs 5,99,900, while the price of Prime SD has been kept at Rs 6,89,900 (ex-showroom). Booking of Prime Taxi range has started across the country for Rs 5,000. Along with this, flexible finance scheme up to 72 months is also available. The company says the Prime Taxi range has been designed to deliver “higher uptime, maintenance and lower operating costs” for fleet operators and taxi drivers.

Engine and Mileage

Both the taxi models have a 1.2 liter, 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine, which also has the option of factory fitted CNG. According to the company, the mileage of Prime SD is 28.40 km/kg and the mileage of Prime HB is 27.32 km/kg. For carefree ownership, Hyundai is also offering a special extended warranty package for 4th and 5th year or up to 1,80,000 km (whichever is earlier).

These include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rear camera, three-year warranty and four panic buttons with vehicle location tracking device. Hyundai Prime HB and Prime SD are available in three colors – Typhoon Silver, Atlas White and Abyss Black.

Hyundai Motor India Limited has expanded its presence in India's commercial mobility sector with the launch of the new Prime Taxi range. The line-up comprises two models, Prime HB and Prime SD, developed specifically for taxi operators and fleet owners who prioritize reliability, low running costs and long-term durability.

The Prime range aims to address the everyday realities of commercial use, where vehicles are expected to cover long distances with minimal downtime. Both the Prime HB hatchback and Prime SD sedan are powered by Hyundai's familiar 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder engine, offered with factory-fitted CNG. The CNG powertrain ensures that the running costs are relatively lower compared to the petrol powertrain.

Fuel efficiency plays a major role in the appeal of the Prime range. The Prime SD offers an estimated efficiency of up to 28.40 kmpl CNG, while the Prime HB is rated at 27.32 kmpl. To comply with commercial regulations, both models come with warranty-backed CNG integration as well as a company-fitted speed limiting function of 80 kmph.

Despite their work-centric status, prime models are not naked. Hyundai has equipped them with six airbags as standard as well as rear parking sensors, an emergency stop signal, three-point seatbelts and a rear defogger. Comfortable and convenient features like rear AC vents, power windows, steering-mounted audio controls, fast USB charging and driver seat height adjustment.

For operators looking to add more functionality, Hyundai is offering optional accessories designed for taxi use. These include a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rear camera and a vehicle location tracking device with multiple panic buttons.

Ownership support remains the main focus of the Prime Taxi range. Hyundai is offering an extended warranty option for the fourth and fifth years or up to 1,80,000 km, which will help operators manage long-term maintenance costs. Bookings for Prime HB and Prime SD are now open at Hyundai dealerships in India with booking amount 5,000. The models will be available in three color options: Atlas White, Typhoon Silver and Abyss Black.
