According to the data, 1,99,923 units have been sold in the EV market in the financial year 2025-26. This figure shows a spectacular increase of 83.63 percent on an annual basis as compared to the total 1,08,873 units sold in FY 2024-25.

Look at the sales report, Tata Motors was the company that sold the most electric cars in the last financial year. At the same time, JSW MG Motor and Mahindra have also achieved strong sales. Tata Motors

Tata Motors is at number one in terms of sales. In the last financial year, they achieved a record of total sales of 78,811 units. This figure represents an annual increase of 35.90 percent compared to the total 57,994 units sold in FY25.

JSW MG Motor

MG Motor is at second place in terms of sales. A total of 53,089 units were sold in FY26. This figure shows an annual increase of 73.67 percent compared to the total 30,569 units sold in the financial year 2024-25.

Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra is at number three in the list. They have sold a total of 42,721 units in the financial year 2025-26. This figure represents a spectacular increase of 407 percent year-on-year as compared to 8,426 units sold in FY25.

Hyundai Motor India

Hyundai has also achieved good growth. A total of 5,885 units were sold in the last financial year. This figure represents an annual increase of 137 percent compared to the total 2,477 units of Hyundai sold in FY25.

BYD India

Despite modest sales, BYD has registered its name in the list of top-5 EV companies. A total of 5,361 units were sold in the last financial year. This figure represents an annual increase of 54 percent compared to the total 3,481 units sold in FY25.

Apart from the top-5 EV companies of FY 2025-26 mentioned above, last month there were 3,738 units of Kia India, 3,537 units of BMW India, 2,390 units of VinFast Auto India, 1,416 units of Maruti Suzuki, 1,047 units of Mercedes-Benz AG, 576 units of Stellantis Automobiles India, 382 units of Volvo Auto India, 342 units of Tesla India Motors and Other companies together have sold a total of 628 units.

Mahindra

Mahindra is at second place in terms of sales. They got a total of 5,244 new customers last month. This figure shows a significant jump at the monthly level as compared to 3,174 units sold by the company in February 2026.

MG Motor

Last month, MG Motor sold a total of 5,141 units. This figure shows a better jump on a monthly basis compared to the total 3,556 units sold in February 2026.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti has sold 949 units last month on the sole basis of E Vitara. This figure indicates an eight-fold increase compared to 223 units sold in February 2026.

VinFast

On the basis of its two SUVs – VF6 and VF7, Vinfast has registered its name in the list of top-5 companies. 691 units were sold last month. This figure shows good growth on a monthly level as compared to 415 units sold in February 2025.

Apart from the top-5 companies of EV segment mentioned above, last month 476 units of Hyundai, 458 units of Kia, 437 units of BMW, 414 units of BYD, 97 units of Mercedes-Benz, 49 units of Tesla, 30 units of Stellantis and other companies together have sold a total of 76 units.
