Kia Seltos is one of the most popular SUVs in the country. The demand for this popular car is increasing with time. This can also be gauged from the sales of new Seltos last year. In February 2026, the new Seltos got a total of 10,308 new customers. This figure shows an increase of 60 percent on an annual basis compared to the total 6446 units sold in February 2025.

Currently, the company sells the new Seltos at a starting ex-showroom price of just Rs. At the same time, its top spec variant goes up to Rs 19.49 lakh. If you are planning to buy a good SUV in the coming days, then Kia Seltos can be a better option. Let us take a look at its design, features and safety along with engine-mileage details.

design details

The look of the new Kia Seltos is quite bold and modern. Its length is now 4460 mm (95 mm more than previous), width is 1830 mm and height is 1635 mm, with ground clearance also better. Star map LED DRLs, ice cube MFR LED headlamps, auto light control and LED taillights are provided at the front. Connected LED lights and sporty bumper at the rear make it attractive. 16, 17 or 18 inch alloy wheels are available depending on the variant. The X-Line variant has a special black theme and glossy finish, which gives it a premium look.

Cabin and Comfort

The interior is now more spacious and has a luxurious feel. Due to wheelbase being 2690 mm, leg room and headroom on the rear seats has increased. Dual 12.3 inch panoramic display (Trinity Panoramic Display) is available, in which the instrument cluster and infotainment system are connected together.

Features like premium leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and Bose sound system make it comfortable. Boot space is 447 litres, which can be increased with foldable rear seats.

Features and safety

The new Seltos is full of latest technology. It gets 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, OTA updates, heads-up display, 360 degree camera, cruise control, wireless charging and multi-function steering wheel. Higher variants also have powered driver seat, remote start and keyless entry.

Kia has left no stone unturned in safety. 6 airbags are standard in all its variants. Engine and Mileage

Seltos can be purchased in three engine options. It has a 1.5L NA petrol (115 bhp power, 144 Nm torque) engine, which is going to give ARAI claimed mileage of 17-18 kmpl with 6-speed MT or IVT (CVT) transmission.

The second 1.5L turbo-petrol (160 bhp power, 253 Nm torque) engine comes with 6iMT or 7-speed DCT and is capable of giving a claimed mileage of up to 17.9 kmpl. Third, there is a 1.5L diesel (116 bhp power, 250 Nm torque) engine, which is capable of giving a claimed mileage of up to 20.7 kmpl with 6MT or 6AT.

Kia India launched its popular mid-size SUV Seltos in a new avatar in January 2026. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, considering customer demand and hybrid trend, the company has also planned to introduce Seltos hybrid variant.

Expected launch timeline is late 2026 or first half of 2027. This is part of Kia's hybrid strategic plan, where hybrid components will be localized in India to keep costs low and pricing also competitive. Kia's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Atul Sood has also confirmed that the hybrid will come to Seltos and the timing will depend on localization. Let's take a look at the possible details.

Design and interior

Talking about design, the exterior of Seltos Hybrid will be completely based on the new Seltos. The length of the car is 4460 mm, wheelbase is 2690 mm and width is 1830 mm, which is more spacious and bold than the old generation. Large tiger nose grille at the front, star map LED headlamps and daytime running lights, connected star map taillamps at the rear, flush door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels and muscular body lines give it a premium and modern look.

On the interior, the Seltos Hybrid will offer a perfect combination of luxury and technology, with premium materials used along with dual-tone color schemes like smoky black and white or black and hunter green. The highlight is the Trinity Panoramic Display – dual 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument cluster, which will give the driver a commanding feel. Features like 64 color ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, panoramic sunroof, Bose 8-speaker sound system and dual zone automatic climate control will give it sedan-like comfort.

Features and safety

The list of features will be long and segment best. Features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, over-the-air (OTA) updates, wireless charging, heads-up display (in top variants), paddle shifters, multiple drive modes and remote control through the Kia Connect app will be available. Hybrid specific features will include smart regenerative braking, EV mode and hybrid drive mode, which will make driving more efficient.

Seltos Hybrid will not make any compromise in terms of safety. Features like standard 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360 degree camera, electronic parking brake and hill hold assist will be available in every variant. 21 autonomous features of ADAS level 2+ will be available in top variants.

Engine and Mileage

In the Seltos Hybrid, a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine will be combined with an electric motor in a strong hybrid system, which can give a total power of around 140-150 hp. It will be front-wheel drive with 6-speed dual clutch transmission or automatic. Hybrid components (battery pack, motor, control unit) will be localized in India, which will make maintenance easy and cheap. It is expected to provide mileage of up to 25-27 KMPL.

1.5 liter diesel engine
The current gen Seltos diesel is powered by a 1.5L engine, which is available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options. The new generation Kia Seltos will be one of the first diesel cars in its segment to have a 7-speed automatic transmission. Tata Curvv already offers a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) with its 1.5L diesel engine. It has also been told in the report that with the introduction of 7AT unit, noise can be reduced, emissions can also be reduced and at the same time better mileage is expected.

The 2026 Kia Seltos is expected to get significant upgrades inside the cabin. New Delhi. The Kia SELTOS, launched in August 2019, was the first offer of South Korean Automaker in India. This midsize SUV has always been appreciated for dhansu features, premium interior quality, sporty design and many engine options in its segment. Since its Arrival, SELTOS has been receiving minor updates every year, and now it is ready for a generative upgrade in 2027. This will be the second generation model, in which petrol-hybrid powertrain is expected to be found with significant design changes and feature upgrade.

100mm before long
According to a recent media report, the new Kia SELTOS will be about 100mm longer than the current model, which is 4,365mm in length. This means that the new model will be 4,465mm long, which will make it the longest SUV in the segment. For reference, the length of Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara is 4,330mm and 4,345mm respectively.

Long and more boot space than compass

In fact, the new SELTOS will be longer than Jeep Compass, which is located in a premium segment and has a length of 4,395mm. Many features can be shared from Kia Syros in the new SELTOS such as 30-inch Trinity display, front and rear ventilated seats, sliding and reclining rear seats. The SUV is expected to have contrast orange inserts with dual-tone silver and gray upholstery, as seen in previous spy images.
