New Delhi. Next gen Kia Seltos is about to be launched. Although the official launch date and details have not been announced yet, this SUV is likely to arrive in December 2025. According to a recent media report, the 2026 Kia Seltos lineup will get a new 7-speed automatic gearbox, which will be offered exclusively with diesel variants.
1.5 liter diesel engine
The current gen Seltos diesel is powered by a 1.5L engine, which is available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options. The new generation Kia Seltos will be one of the first diesel cars in its segment to have a 7-speed automatic transmission. Tata Curvv already offers a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) with its 1.5L diesel engine. It has also been told in the report that with the introduction of 7AT unit, noise can be reduced, emissions can also be reduced and at the same time better mileage is expected.
New Kia Seltos 2026 – What to Expect?
The 2026 Kia Seltos is expected to get significant upgrades inside the cabin. The SUV may borrow the Trinity Panoramic display from Syros, which includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control capabilities. Some more features can also be added to the package.
'Opposites United' design language
Although official design details will be revealed closer to its launch, the new Kia Seltos 2026 is expected to feature the brand's new 'Opposites United' design language. At the front, it will have a redesigned grille, redesigned fog lamps and vertical DRLs. The SUV may also have new alloy wheels and connected taillamps.
bigger size than before
In global markets, the 2026 Kia Seltos is reported to be increasing in size. Its overall length is expected to increase by about 100mm, making it longer than the Jeep Compass. However, it is not clear whether the India-spec version will retain its current dimensions or be taller.
