Kia Seltos 2nd Generation Launch Date: The second generation model of Kia Seltos will debut in Korea on December 10, will be launched in India in 2026, will come with new design, features and hybrid version. The biggest highlight of this car will be its 7 speed gearbox setup. This is the first time that the company is going to give a generational upgrade to this SUV.
Kia Seltos was the first car of KIA in India. This SUV initially got a great response in India. However, later as competition increased, there was some decline in its sales. Therefore the company updated it continuously. So that the customers remain interested in this car and the company was quite successful in this matter. Even after 6 years of launch, this car still attracts buyers. Now the company is going to give it a generation update for the first time. That means the upcoming Kia Seltos will be the second generation Kia Seltos. After its launch, this car will compete with the very popular SUVs like Hyundai Creta and Tata Nexon which have been proving their mettle in the Indian market for a long time.
The global debut of the second generation Kia Seltos will take place in Korea on December 10, followed by its launch in India in early 2026. This model has been tested for a long time and has been seen several times in heavy camouflage. The spy images reveal that the 2026 Kia Seltos will have major design changes and feature upgrades compared to the current generation.
Seltos Hybrid-With this generational change, the Seltos will also come in a hybrid version, while the existing engine setup will be retained in India. However, a hybrid version may join the lineup later (possibly in 2027). 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and 116bhp, 1.5L diesel engines will be available.
New 7-speed AT gearbox? The transmission will also be taken from the current model. According to media reports, the new generation lineup may get a new 7-speed automatic gearbox exclusively for the 1.5L diesel engine. Currently, the Seltos diesel is available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options.
Kia Seltos Hybrid – What to Expect? The hybrid system can be offered with 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine. The same petrol-hybrid powertrain will also power the upcoming Kia 7-seater SUV. The new Kia Seltos Hybrid can be introduced in global markets first, after which it will be launched in India. An e-AWD system may also be part of the package, although it will not be included in the India-spec version.
The 2026 Kia Seltos will adopt the brand's new 'Opposites United' design language, which will include a redesigned front grille, thinner and angular vertical DRLs, modified fog lamp assembly, new alloy wheels and connected taillamps.
The Trinity Panoramic Display can be borrowed from Sciros in the SUV. The SUV may also get a differently designed dashboard, new upholstery and more features.
The total dimensions of the SUV will also increase. Kia can add new features and advanced technology to Seltos in 2026.
