New Delhi. The new 2026 Kia Seltos has finally been launched in India, with a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The range of this SUV includes many variants, such as HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTX, HTX (A), GTX, GTX (A) and X-Line. Bookings have started across the country and deliveries are likely to start in the next few weeks. In the midsize SUV segment, the new Seltos will compete with Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, recently launched Tata Sierra, Toyota Highrider, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.

Modern Design Language
The 2026 Kia Seltos, built on the new K3 platform, has received several major design changes inspired by the Kia Telluride SUV sold in the global market. At the front, Kia's signature 'Tiger Face' grille, LED DRL strips with LED headlamps, new body color bumper, faux silver skid plate, fog lamp assembly and gloss black elements are provided. The side profile has gloss-black wheel arches, flush-type door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the new Seltos gets a new bumper, body color elements, connected taillamps (like Karen Clives) and a faux silver skid plate.

Dimensions and color options
Compared to the previous model, the new 2026 Kia Seltos comes with 95mm longer, 30mm wider and 80mm more wheelbase. However, its overall height has been reduced by 10mm. Now its length is 4460mm, width is 1830mm and height is 1635mm, while the wheelbase is 2690mm. It is available in several colors including Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Morning Haze, Ivory Silver Gloss, Gravity Grey, Magma Red and Pewter Olive. It is worth noting that the Aurora Black Pearl and exclusive Matte Graphite paint scheme is available only for the X-Line variant.

The interior of the new Kia Seltos 2026 is more premium and upmarket than before. Its biggest highlight is the triple screen layout, which includes a 12.3-inch infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital driver display and 5-inch HVAC display.

Features of base variant
The base variant also gets many features, like a new three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, armrest and cupholders in the center console, USB-C charging ports (2 front and 2 rear), keyless entry, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 6 airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability control, ABS and tire pressure monitor.

Exclusive Features
Higher variants get advanced features like level-2 ADAS, reverse parking collision avoidance assist, smart cruise control with stop and go, parking collision avoidance assist, 360-degree camera, 2 side parking sensors, 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat and memory function for driver seat and ORVMs. The company has retained the 1.5L turbo petrol, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L diesel engines in the new 2026 Kia Seltos. Power and torque figures remain the same and five gearbox options are available in the SUV lineup.

New Delhi. The next-generation Kia Seltos will go on sale in India tomorrow (January 2, 2026) with its official price announced. Booking of this SUV has already started across the country and the delivery will start from mid-January. The price of the new 2026 Kia Seltos will be slightly higher than the current model, with the top variant expected to be priced around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the price of the entry-level variant may remain close to the current base model, whose starting price is Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new Kia Seltos 2026 has 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol (115bhp/144Nm), 1.5 liter turbo petrol (160bhp/253Nm) and 1.5 liter diesel (116bhp/250Nm) engine options. For transmission, options are 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic, CVT automatic, IMT (clutchless manual transmission) and 7-speed DCT automatic.

Both midsize SUVs get an all-LED lighting setup, but the Sierra gets rear fog lamps and puddle lamps on all doors, which are missing from the next-generation Seltos. Apart from this, the Seltos comes with smaller 18-inch rims, while the Sierra gets larger 19-inch rims. However, the outside rearview mirror (ORVM) in Kia is synchronized with the memory function of the driver's seat. Whereas in Sierra, memory function is available only for the driver seat.

Both models get a triple-screen setup with a 12.3-inch infotainment system. However, the Sierra gets a 12.3-inch passenger display, while the Seltos, like the Kia Sciros and EV9, gets a 5-inch climate control screen between the infotainment screen and the 12.3-inch driver display. The Sierra's instrumentation panel is slightly smaller, at 10.25-inches. The new Seltos also has a head-up display (HUD), which is available in the Sierra only in its lower trims. Kia gets more adjustment settings for the driver's seat, but it does not have an air purifier and a cooled glove box. Talking about the audio system, the Sierra's system, at least on paper, is better with more speakers.

New Kia Seltos vs Tata Sierra: Which SUV to choose?
The prices of the top-spec variants of the new Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra have not been revealed yet and will play a key role in deciding which midsize SUV is the better option. Although both have a long list of features, the Sierra gets a slight advantage with a passenger display, more speakers, a cooled glove box and an air purifier, which makes it look more attractive. The Seltos has more seat adjustment, but even the Sierra doesn't completely miss it, which doesn't make much of a difference in everyday use. So, until the prices are revealed, the Sierra has a slight edge over the Seltos on paper.
