The 2026 Mahindra XUV 7XO is not an SUV that you can understand at a glance. Instead of offering a handful of trims, Mahindra has spread the 7XO across a wide range of prices, engines and seating layouts. For buyers, that means more options — but also more decisions to make before signing on the dotted line.

With prices starting from Increasing till 13.66 lakh more Rs 24.11 lakh (initial, ex-showroom), the XUV7XO covers almost the entire mid-size three-row SUV space. These prices are applicable for the first 40,000 deliveries, after which Mahindra plans to revise it. Practically, this makes early clarity on variants and features especially important for potential buyers.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Exterior and interior color options

The color palette of the XUV 7XO leans more towards darker colors. Buyers looking for lighter colors can choose Desert Mist or Everest White, while options like Galaxy Grey, Midnight Black, Nebula Blue, Ruby Velvet and Stealth Black are there for those who prefer darker colors. On the inside, Mahindra has introduced a beige-and-brown cabin theme, which aims to make the interior feel warmer and less tech-centric, especially in the higher trims.

Where the XUV 7XO fits in this segment

The XUV 7XO competes with familiar names like Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari. Like these rivals, it offers both petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic gearboxes. What differentiates Mahindra's approach is how many combinations it offers within a model line, rather than pushing buyers toward a narrow “recommended” version.

Six trims, AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7T (Tech) and AX7L (Luxury), allow the 7XO to appeal to very different buyers, from those upgrading from a compact SUV to those looking for a feature-heavy family tourer.

India's cheapest 7 seater SUV

This is the most affordable 3-row SUV in the country. At present it has no direct competitor. Other 3-row electric cars available under Rs 50 lakh are the Kia Carens EV and BYD eMax 7, but both of them fall in the MPV category, so cannot be compared with the XEV 9S. Interested customers can register their choices from December 14, while its test drive will start from December 5. Booking and delivery will start from January 14 and January 23, 2026 respectively.

Design of this new SUV

XEV 9e is a mix of XUV 700 – The front of the SUV is similar to the XEV 9e with a connected bar and headlight setup. But the sides and rear are similar to the XUV700. However, a new tail-lamp setup has been given in the rear. This eSUV rides on 18-inch aero-style alloy wheels. Talking about dimensions, the SUV has a long wheelbase of 2,762 mm, which provides more space inside the cabin. There is good space for third row passengers also. Talking about luggage space, the SUV has 527 liters of boot space and 150 liters of trunk storage space.

interior

Talking about the interior, it has many features like XEV9e. Mahindra has tried to provide almost every feature in it, which makes it even more futuristic. It includes triple 12.3-inch screen setup, second row sliding and ventilated seats, level 2+ ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 16 Harman Kardon sound system, 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, dual wireless charging (front and rear), powered boss mode, AR HUD, carpet lamps, rear sunshade, intelligent adaptive suspension, auto booster lamps, Acoustic laminated door glass, NFC key and much more are available.

powertrain

There are surprises in the powertrain too – along with the 59kWh (228bhp and 380Nm) and 79kWh (282bhp and 380Nm) battery packs found in the XEV models, the 7-seater SUV also gets a new 70kWh (241bhp and 380Nm) battery pack. Mahindra claims that this SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds and its top speed is 202 km/h.
