New Delhi. A big change has been seen in India's SUV market. Neither Maruti, nor Hyundai or Tata, yet one SUV has overtaken all of them and established its dominance in the market. This car has crossed the sales mark of 17 lakh units so far and has become the best selling SUV of the country. The story of its popularity is not limited to just features or design, but its strength, performance and customer trust have made it number one. This car is none other than Mahindra's Bolero.

Mahindra Bolero, which has ruled the Indian SUV market for 25 years, is still maintaining its hold. Launched in August 2000, this SUV has created history due to its strength, reliable image and popularity in rural areas. Often people think of Maruti, Hyundai or Tata vehicles as the top ones, but actually India's best selling SUV is Mahindra Bolero. Its 17 lakh units have been sold so far, which makes it the number 1 selling SUV in the country.

Bolero, popularly known as 'Sarpanch ki Gaadi' in rural areas of India, has been a reliable SUV. It has been updated several times in the last 25 years. The first major update came in 2007, in 2011 it got the m2DiCR engine, in 2016 it got a facelift with the mHawk engine. In 2020, a new model of Bolero was launched and in 2021, premium 'Bolero Neo' also came in the market. Now Mahindra has introduced 2025 model Bolero and Bolero Neo. Prices for the new Bolero start at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Bolero Neo starts at Rs 8.49 lakh.

The new Bolero includes a new front grille, redesigned bumpers and stealth black color option. The top variant gets fog lamps, diamond-cut alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls and USB Type-C charging ports. The seats have been reshaped for better support, and higher trims get leatherette upholstery. The new Rideflow suspension system now provides greater comfort and stability. The engine is the same 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel, producing 75 bhp power and 210 Nm torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Bolero Neo also gets a new front grille, 16-inch dark gray alloy wheels and dual-tone paint like Jeans Blue and Concrete Grey. The cabin gets Lunar Gray and Mocha Brown themes, seats with better cushioning and the top variant gets a 9-inch touchscreen, rear camera and Type-C charging ports. Neo has a 1.5-litre mHawk100 diesel engine, which produces 100 bhp and 260 Nm torque.

The latest Mahindra Bolero Neo gets a fresh fascia with a grill rivamp. The new now gets horizontal slats with chrome ornamentation, which gives a little premium touch to the front. Two new color options are available, namely jeans blue and concrete gray. Which are available on the new N11 edition of SUV. This new top-end variant also gets double tone paint options with new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The car manufacturer has also changed the interior bits. Now it gets a new lunar gray color theme, which is a light shade. However, it is completely introduced on the N11 trim; The lower people get a dark mocha brown shade. Now the seats offer cushions added, and a USB-C charging port has been added to increase further convenience. Mahindra has included a rear-view camera with new 8.9-inch touchscreen in N10 and N11 variants of Bolero Neo.

On the other hand, Mahindra gets a new paint shade called Bolero facelift, Stealth Black, which is available in all trim options. Bolero now gets a redesign grille, which also includes new chrome highlights. A new B8 version has been introduced for Bolero.

The top-specie B8 variant provides diamond-cut alloy wheels, new fog lamps, a touchscreen infotainment screen, steering-mounted control, USB-C charging port, leatherrset seat cover and better seat cushion. Additionally, Bolero now also finds a bottle holder in door trims.

Mahindra Bolero Neo and Mahindra Bolero have been one of the best selling models for the manufacturer. The new GST rules are being implemented and the festive season is coming, manufacturers are expecting an increase in sales numbers.

New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to launch updated Thar 3-door and Bolero Neo in the coming months. However, the official launch date of both models has not been announced yet. Recently, 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift was captured on camera with minimal Camoplas, which gave interesting information about its design and interior upgrade. The special thing is that most of these updates are inspired by Thar Rocks.

Better styling
A slightly better styling in the exterior, the new Mahindra Thar 2025 will have a new grill and headlamps and tales in the new C-shaped LED LED signatures with double-tacked slots. The SUV will have newly designed alloy wheels (possibly limited to high trims), while there will be no change in the size of the tire.

Gearbox options will continue in the new 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift, existing 152bhp, 2.0 turbo petrol, 119bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel and 132bhp, 2.2L Turbo Diesel Engine Options will continue. Transmissions will also be taken from the existing model, including 6-speed manual (standard) and 6-speed torque converter automatic (with only 2.2L diesel variants).

According to GST reports, the price of current 3-door Thar has been cut by Rs 1.35 lakh and currently it is priced between Rs 10.31 lakh to Rs 16.60 lakh. With more premium features and styling upgrade, the price of 2025 Thar facelift is expected to increase slightly.

At the same time, Thar Rocks had round headlights in the previously viewed Test mules. 2025 Mahindra Bolero Neo will have a small upper grill at the front, which will have vertical slats. It retains the boxy stance and gets newly designed alloy wheels in it.

While minor changes have been made in external design, big updates are expected in the interior of 2025 Bolero Neo. The interiors were not disclosed much in the spy image. However, the new Bolero Neo is expected to have a large 10.2-inch infotainment screen, wireless Android auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, wireless charging pads, ventilated seats and other features.

The homegrown auto manufacturer currently has 1.19 lakh open bookings for both the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic SUVs. The second most popular SUV from the automaker is the Mahindra Thar, which claims to be receiving about 10,000 bookings every month. The true blue off-roader that comes available in both hard-top and soft-top variants currently has 76,000 open bookings across India.

Mahindra Bolero range and XUV700 range are at the same level when it comes to receiving bookings. Both the XUV700 flagship SUV and the Bolero models have been receiving about 9,000 bookings every month. The XUV700 currently has 70,000 open bookings across India. The Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo combined have been fetching about 9,000 bookings every month and currently have 11,000 open bookings.

Mahindra XUV300 and its pure electric sibling XUV400, together have been receiving about 6,000 bookings every month, claimed the automaker. Combined, these two compact SUVs currently have 10,000 open bookings across the country. Demands for the SUVs have been rising in India rapidly, keeping pace with the rest of the global markets. Encouraged by this, every automaker has been launching new products in the segment and Mahindra too is no different. The carmaker has launched a couple of new models over the one year that have received pretty good responses from buyers.
