Longer than hillux and V-Cross
Two years ago, Mahindra showcased Global Pick Up Concept based on Scorpio N. Now, a Test mule has been seen as a fully caofied on Indian roads. The first thing that attracts attention is its length, which can probably be more than 5.50 meters, which will make it longer than hills and V-cross.
There are no visible differences with Scorpio-N in the pickup test mule. It will be made available in a single-and dual-cab version, and the latest tale is a single-cab version in the muel. Its front face looks completely different from its SUV parent, with grill patterns and halogen headlamp clusters that remind of Hindustan ambassador. In this, the Clameshell bonnet of Scorpio-N remains intact, but the edge looks a bit more round.
18-Inch Steel Wheels
The prototype appears on 18-inch steel wheels, which suggests that the unit seen in spy image can be the lower or mid trim. However, the concept displayed a few years ago was all-Terin Tires, while the vehicle seen here is on the general road-busy tires. Although the same is the same ladder-on-frame chassis below it, the suspension of the pickup truck will be largely redesigned to carry heavy loads. Inside the cabin, the dashboard and feature list are expected to be taken from Scorpio N.
Mahindra is expected to get a 2.2-liter diesel engine to the upcoming Scorpio-N pickup. In the Scorpio-N SUV, this unit is introduced at two tuning levels: the lower-spec version gives 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque, while high-slip variant generates 172 hp and 370 nm torque when it is combined with 6-speed manual and 400 nm 6-speed automatic.
4 × 4 drivetrain
A low-range gearbox and low-range transfer case with a 4 × 4 driving will also be introduced, as well as several terrain modes. It is still uncertain whether Mahindra will also introduce a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine on pickup. This petrol motor generates 200 hp power, with torque figures with 370 Nm 6-speed manual and 380 Nm 6-speed automatic.
