Upcoming 7 Seater SUVs in India: The market of 7 seater SUVs is growing rapidly in the country's auto market. Their demand has increased especially due to the increasing needs of families and demand for premium features. Many models are going to be launched this year in the beginning of 2026. These include the names of MG Majestor, Volkswagen Tayron and new Mahindra Scorpio-N (facelift).
These three 7 seater SUVs are ready to make a strong hold in the premium segment. We will know what will be seen in these new 7-seater vehicles which are getting ready to compete with the vehicles like Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq already present in the segment. We will also take a look at their estimated launch timeline.
MG Majestor
The first number in the list is MG Magister. It will hit the market on 12 February 2026 and will be MG's first D+ SUV in India. It is bigger than Fortuner in size. Approximately 4.8 meters or more in length. It is being considered as an upgraded or flagship version of MG Gloster, which will be positioned above the Gloster. The estimated price could range between ₹40 lakh to ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom).
It will have a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which produces 216hp power and 479Nm torque. Features will include advanced safety features like LED projector headlamps, vertical LED DRLs, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, rear seat ventilation, wireless charger, rear AC vents, 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS. The interior will have three row (6 or 7 seater) layout, premium upholstery and modern touchscreen infotainment system. It will give a very spacious and luxurious feel for family use, and will also be able to perform well on rough roads.
Volkswagen Tayron
VW will introduce it as Volkswagen Tayron or Tayron R-Line. This new 7-seater flagship SUV can be launched by March 2026. VW has officially confirmed it in India and it will come in R-Line version, which will have a sporty look. The estimated price could be around ₹45 lakh to ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will have a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which generates 204hp power and 320Nm torque.
This powertrain will come with 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and 4MOTION AWD system. Features include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps and connected taillamps, 15-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and massaging front seats, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS. It will be a direct competitor of Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.
New Mahindra Scorpio-N (Facelift)
It can potentially be launched in the first half of the year 2026 i.e. March-June. Scorpio-N was launched in the Indian market in 2022 and is now getting a mid-life update. The price will be slightly higher than the current model, it can be launched between ₹ 14 lakh to ₹ 25 lakh. It will get cosmetic changes like new headlamps, grille, taillights and 18-inch new alloy wheels.
The interior will come with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, updated digital cluster, new upholstery, powered driver seat and more features. The engines will remain the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, 4WD option with manual and automatic transmission will also be offered. Features like ADAS level-2, Sony sound system and dual-zone AC will increase in it.
