New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra seems to be preparing updates for its popular lifestyle off-road SUVs – 3-door Thar and Thar Rocks. Both models have recently been spotted testing on Indian roads. Although, the official launch timeline of facelifted Thar and Thar Rocks has not been revealed yet, but it is expected that these vehicles can be launched in the middle or second half of 2026. Let us know what can be expected from the new 2026 Mahindra Thar and Thar Rocks facelift.

2026 Mahindra Thar Facelift – What's new?

Spy images suggest that the 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift may get mild design changes and feature upgrades, which will be inspired by the Thar Rocks. At the front, the SUV can get a slightly changed grille and C-shaped DRLs with circular LED headlamps. The vehicle spotted testing featured 19-inch alloy wheels and a new LED tail lamp signature.

  • Talking about the features, it can get features like Level-2 ADAS (Autonomous Driving Assistance System), auto dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVM, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging pad and push-button start with keyless entry.
  • Mechanically, there are likely to be no major changes in the new 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift. As before, this SUV will come with 152bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, 119bhp, 1.5L diesel and 132bhp, 2.2L diesel engine options. 4WD system can be available as standard with more powerful diesel engine.
  • 2026 Mahindra Thar Rocks Facelift – What's new? Not much information is currently available about the new 2026 Mahindra Thar Rocks facelift. However, it is believed that it may get a new powertrain option, possibly a 1.5L diesel. Currently, Thar Rocks is available in three engine options – 162bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel and 152bhp, 2.2L diesel engine.
  • Most of the features remain the same, including 10.2-inch fully digital instrument TFT screen, 10.2-inch free-standing infotainment system, auto dimming IRVM, rear AC vents, front and rear armrest, camera-based level-2 ADAS suite, 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, traction control program, electronically locking rear differential, Crawl Smart Assist (CSA), Intelli Turn Assist (ITA) etc. are included. Only minor cosmetic changes can be seen in the updated Thar Rocks.

Tata will launch punch facelift in October, followed by petrol versions of Harrier and Safari SUV in November. On the other hand, Mahindra will introduce updated Thar 3-Dore, Bolero Neo and Bolero SUV before this Diwali season. Let's take a look at these upcoming Tata and Mahindra SUVs.

Tata Panch facelift

In updated punch, designed elements from Panch EV can be taken such as new front grille, changed bumpers and new headlamps. The micro SUV may also have newly designed alloy wheels, redesigned tailgate and ultraz-inspired LED tail lamps. The interior will include facilities like new two-spoke steering wheel and blind spot monitor, 8-spicker music system, ventilated front seats and 6 airbags. The 2025 Tata Panch facelift will come with the current 1.2L NA Petrol and CNG engine options.

Tata Harrier/Safari Petrol
The Tata Harrier and Safari SUV will soon be available with a new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. This direct injection motor generates a maximum power of 170bhp at 5,000rpm and 2,000rpm – 3,500rpm torque of 280nm. This will suit the BS6 Phase II emission standard and E20 fuel. The new petrol engine will be introduced with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Updated Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo have been seen several times during testing, which has revealed the major design changes and feature upgrade. 2025 Mahindra Bolero Neo can have features such as 10.2-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging pads, ventilated seats, wireless Android auto and Apple CarPlay, Kelace Go System and Push-Button Start. In the case of the engine, the SUV will have an existing 1.5L, 3-cylinder MHAWK diesel engine, which generates 100bhp power and 260Nm torque.

New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to launch updated Thar 3-door and Bolero Neo in the coming months. However, the official launch date of both models has not been announced yet. Recently, 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift was captured on camera with minimal Camoplas, which gave interesting information about its design and interior upgrade. The special thing is that most of these updates are inspired by Thar Rocks.

Better styling
A slightly better styling in the exterior, the new Mahindra Thar 2025 will have a new grill and headlamps and tales in the new C-shaped LED LED signatures with double-tacked slots. The SUV will have newly designed alloy wheels (possibly limited to high trims), while there will be no change in the size of the tire.

Gearbox options will continue in the new 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift, existing 152bhp, 2.0 turbo petrol, 119bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel and 132bhp, 2.2L Turbo Diesel Engine Options will continue. Transmissions will also be taken from the existing model, including 6-speed manual (standard) and 6-speed torque converter automatic (with only 2.2L diesel variants).

price
According to GST reports, the price of current 3-door Thar has been cut by Rs 1.35 lakh and currently it is priced between Rs 10.31 lakh to Rs 16.60 lakh. With more premium features and styling upgrade, the price of 2025 Thar facelift is expected to increase slightly.

The updated XUV700 2.0L turbo will be powered by petrol and 2.0L diesel engines, which will generate a maximum power of 360nm with 380Nm and 155PS with 200ps respectively. 2026 Mahindra Thar Mahindra Thar facelift has been launched. Thar Rocks
The SUV will borrow several design elements and features from its 5-door cybbing Thar Rocks. The 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift will include an updated digital instrument cluster, large touchscreen infotainment system that will run on the latest UI and include a new electric steering wheel. Features such as Ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, rear disc brakes and level 2 ADAS suits can also be taken from Thar Rocks. For power, updated Thar 152bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, 119bhp, 1.5L diesel and 130bhp, 2.2L will continue using diesel engines. The SUV will come with both RWD and 4WD systems.

New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra is fully ready to give a big upgrade to its popular lifestyle off-road SUV-Thar (3-door). Previously, the updated model was reported to be in the first half of 2026. However, now the company is preparing to launch it quickly, which will be in September 2025. The Thar facelift has been seen several times during testing, which has given us some information about the upcoming model. Let's know the big things about 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift.

Thar Rocks-Inspired Styling
In the new Mahindra Thar 2025, many design elements and features will be taken from Thar Rocks. On the exterior, the SUV will have a new design grill with double-stacked slats, new headlamps and slightly updated bumper. Except for new alloy wheels, there will not be much change in side profiles. At the back, updated Thar will be converted bumper and new design tail lamps. New color options can also be found in SUV model lineup.

Feature-rich interior

Important feature upgrade will be seen in the interior. The 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift will have a large touchscreen infotainment system that will support the latest UI, updated digital instrument cluster and new electric steering wheel. In the case of feature, Ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, rear disc brakes and level-2 ADAS suits can be taken from Thar Rocks in 3-door Thar.

No change in engine
The new Mahindra Thar 2025 will have 2.0L turbo petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel and 2.2L turbo diesel engine. The petrol engine gives a maximum power of 152bhp, while 1.5L and 2.2L diesel engines give 119bhp and 130bhp power respectively. Transmission options will include the same 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic units. Both RWD (rear-wheel drive) and 4WD (four-wheel drive) systems will be available.
