Booking of more than 90,000 cars, worth Rs 20,500 crore!
From all-electric SUVs and special editions to a major facelift, Mahindra had a packed 2025 lineup. Here are the five most important Mahindra SUVs launched in India this year.
2025 has been one of the most defining years ever for Mahindra, with the brand expanding its footprint into electric mobility, lifestyle SUVs and mass-market workhorses.
2025 turned out to be a landmark year for Mahindra's SUV portfolio in India, with the domestic manufacturer doubling down on electrification, special editions and meaningful mid-cycle updates across all segments. From long-range electric SUVs to fresh icons like the Thar and Bolero, Mahindra's launches this year highlight its evolving design ethos and market strategy. Here's a closer look at the five best Mahindra SUVs launched in India in 2025 and what each of them has to offer:
Mahindra BE6 Formula E Edition: 23.69L
Mahindra BE6 Formula E Edition celebrates the brand's Formula E involvement with sportier design updates
The BE6 Formula E edition was launched as part of Mahindra's 'Scream Electric' campaign and to mark the manufacturer's continued involvement in the Formula E series. This special edition model features a sportier exterior design, including circular LED projector headlamps, revised bumpers and edition-specific decals. The model is adorned with a cleaner LED lightbar, carbon fiber door trim and Formula E badging inside.
This version of the BE 6 gets a 79 kWh battery pack that enables a single-charge range of 682 km (MIDC, P1+P2 combined), and continues to have a rear-wheel drive layout.
Mahindra XEV 9S: 19.95L
For consumers who want a family SUV with modern tech-enabled features and adequate range per charge, and are certainly willing to pay a higher price for it. This SUV fits perfectly in the price of Rs 20 lakh.
The XEV 9S is the manufacturer's latest battery electric SUV, positioned above the XEV 9e as an all-new three-row model, designed with an emphasis on interior space. This is essentially the all-electric XUV700, whose front profile and overall stance resembles its ICE-powered counterpart. It has a total cabin volume of 3,941 liters with a 527-litre boot and 150-litre frunk. The XEV 9S gets a sliding second row with reclining seats, ventilated seating and a powered Boss mode, as well as a panoramic sunroof straight from the base model. The dashboard is dominated by a large triple-screen setup, while the rear occupants are treated to BYOD (Bring Your Own Display) functionality.
The
Mahindra Thar Facelift: 9.99L
From the outside, the Thar remains instantly recognisable. Mahindra has focused on small cosmetic changes rather than a complete redesign.
While the Thar remains mechanically unchanged for the new model year, Mahindra has given it a mid-cycle update to enhance its overall offering. With this, the Thar gets small cosmetic changes as well as feature upgrades that make it a better value for your money. It remains recognizable but with a dual-tone bumper and body-coloured grille in place of the previous black finish. There's also a rear wiper with washer and a rearview camera for added functionality. Stepping inside reveals more changes in the form of a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Adventure Statistic 2, which gives drivers detailed off-road information on terrain, angles and slopes. The steering wheel now looks like the Thar Rocks, and the center console has also been reworked for a cleaner layout.

It was freshly updated in October 2025, bringing additional features and feature upgrades while retaining everything that has made it so popular among its fanbase. It features a redesigned front grille with chrome accents and new diamond-cut alloys. The cabin benefits from touchscreen infotainment, multi-function steering wheel, new USB-C charging port and leatherette upholstery with better seat cushioning. While the engine options remain the same, Mahindra has upgraded the Bolero's suspension system with RideFlow technology for better comfort. With these changes, the SUV retains the core features that make it the Bolero, while also adding more things to the table to improve its longevity in the market.
Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition: 18.51L
Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition is mechanically identical to the standard XUV700.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Battery and range Powertrain details have not been revealed yet, however, the XEV 9S is expected to use the same 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery packs offered in the XEV 9e and BE 6. These units produce 231hp and 286hp respectively, both with 380Nm of torque.
