Both the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara and VinFast VF6 are compact electric SUVs, offering affordable EV options in the Indian market. The e-Vitara is scheduled to launch in February 2026, while the VF6 is expected to arrive in September 2025. Both are FWD single motor, but there is a difference in their price, range and premiumness.

You can buy Maruti E Vitara with BaaS plan for ₹ 10.99 lakh (battery rental ₹ 3.99/km). Whereas, its Delta (49 kWh) variant is priced at ₹ 15.99 lakh and Zeta/Alpha (61 kWh) is priced at ₹ 17.49-₹ 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Design

The e-Vitara gets a polyhedral muscular stance, futuristic front in Nexa style, 18-inch alloy wheels with NEXTrè matrix LED DRL and taillights. This is a very strong and practical looking SUV. VF6 on the other hand is sleek and modern. Eyebrow LED DRL, split headlights, closed grille, muscular wheel arches give it a more premium and aerodynamic feel.

The e-Vitara can be bought with a 49 kWh (440 km, 142 bhp/193 Nm) or 61 kWh LFP (543 km ARAI, 172 bhp/193 Nm) battery pack. It will take 50 minutes to charge it 10-80%. Whereas, VF6 has a battery of 59.6 kWh (463-468 km, 174 bhp/250 Nm or 201 bhp/310 Nm). With this fast DC charger, it gets charged 10-70% in just 25 minutes. Maruti has more range.

Who is better: The Maruti e-Vitara range is budget-friendly with service network (1500+ EV stations) and BaaS. VF6 is ahead in performance, premium cabin and fast charging. Maruti Suzuki's first electric SUV e Vitara and the electric version of Hyundai's popular Creta, both are giving tough competition in the mid-size electric SUV segment. The starting price of an e Vitara is quite attractive, while the Creta Electric comes with premium features and brand value.

Talking about the price, the biggest plus point of Maruti e Vitara is Battery as a Service (BaaS). Its Delta 49 kWh variant starts at just ₹ 10.99 lakh, with battery rent at ₹ 3.99/km, while the price of Creta Electric starts at ₹ 18.02 lakh. Let us take a look at the design, interior, features, safety, battery, motor and rent details of these two e-SUVs.

Design and dimensions

Maruti E Vitara is boxy and muscular in style. It has a polyhedral muscular stance, Y-shaped 3-point matrix LED DRLs, sculpted 3D look, 225/55 R18 alloy wheels. Its length is 4275 mm, width is 1800 mm, height is 1640 mm and wheelbase is 2700 mm. It gives an aerodynamic and rugged road presence with a futuristic front fascia.

The Creta Electric is based on the classic Creta design, but the EV specific pixelated closed grille, bold upright styling, active air flaps and 17-inch aero alloy wheels make it special. Our advice: If low budget, range, affordable price (BaaS) and safety are priorities, then Maruti E Vitara will prove to be a better option. At the same time, Creta Electric is better for features like premium design, luxury interior, more torque and V2L. Maruti Suzuki will enter the growing Indian passenger EV market with the launch of the e Vitara in January 2026, marking the beginning of the carmaker's electric strategy. Based on the HEARTECT-e architecture, it will be offered in 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, offering a single-charge range of between 344 and 543 km (ARAI). The e Vitara will also debut Suzuki's ALLGRIP-e electric 4WD system on the 61 kWh variant, with independent front and rear axles. These variants will offer a dedicated Trail mode that employs selective braking and torque distribution to improve off-road performance.

Vinfast Limo Green:

VinFast has confirmed its plans to explore full-scale expansion in India's EV sector and is looking to bring its entire global portfolio to our shores. Leading the charge will be the VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seat electric MPV that will rival the Kia Carens Clavis EV. It gets a 60.13 kWh battery pack that powers a 150 kW motor that produces 280 Nm of peak torque and a single-charge driving range of up to 450 km.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift:

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift will be launched in India around June 2026 and will come with several cosmetic changes as well as functional enhancements. Maruti Suzuki will take its first big step into India's electric SUV sector with the launch of the e-Vitara tomorrow. Maruti Suzuki E Vitara 2025 has been in the news since its first appearance at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This launch marks the beginning of the company's long-planned EV rollout.

Launch day and price outlook

The new electric SUV will be introduced on December 2, with a price expected to be around 17-22 lakh (ex-showroom). If Maruti keeps it in this bracket, the e-Vitara will enter the same price zone as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curve EV, Mahindra BE6 and MG Windsor EV. Fast-charging capability via both AC and DC systems is expected to be standard across all variants.

Battery pack, performance and range

Maruti's first EV is expected to come with two battery options, aimed to cater to different buyer needs:

49 kWh pack – positioned as a more affordable and city-friendly option
61 kWh pack – estimated to provide a useful driving range of up to 500 km

Power figures are likely to fall between 142 bhp and 172 bhp, with torque estimated to be around 192.5 Nm. Initial versions are expected to run on front-wheel drive, while an all-wheel-drive configuration is planned for a later stage.

New Delhi. The Maruti Suzuki E Vitara electric SUV was first showcased as an EVX concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, followed by its production-ready debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. This new EV will be launched directly against Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV. According to the latest media report, Maruti E Vitara will be available for sale in India on December 2, 2025.

The India-spec E Vitara is likely to have similar battery options and specifications as the global variant. This means that this EV will come with two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh – which will be paired with the electric motor fitted on the front XL. The larger 61kWh battery variant will also be available with dual motor setup and all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

Range
The 49kWh FWD variant will produce maximum power of 144bhp and offer a claimed range of 344km per charge. The 61kWh FWD variant will offer 174bhp power and a driving range of 428km, while the same battery pack with the AWD setup will offer 184bhp power and a range of 394km. Initially, the E Vitara may be available only with a single motor configuration. A dual motor variant may join the lineup later.
