New Delhi. India's best -selling family car (MPV), Maruti Ertiga will soon come up with a big diamble upgrade. According to a recent media report, the total length of MPV will be increased from 4.39 meters to 4.43 meters. While the wheelbase will remain unchanged at 2.74 meters, the boot space will be large. Since, Ertiga Tour M Fleet variants have already been introduced with big dimensions.

Increased price
In addition, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) in 2025 Maruti Ertiga will be included as Standard Safety Fitment, as well as AC vents will be slightly written for the seats of the second row. Recently, the MPV lineup was updated with standard 6 airbags, which led to a slight increase in the price. Currently, the Ertiga is available in 9 variants, whose prices are between Rs 9.11 lakh to Rs 13.40 lakh (all, ex-showrooms).

Engine and power

The current 1.5L K-series petrol engine is expected to be used in the updated Maruti Ertiga, which generates maximum 102bhp power and 136Nm torque. The CNG variant claims 87bhp power and 121.5Nm torque. The 5-speed manual gearbox comes as the standard, while a 6-speed automatic transmission is also available in selected petrol variants.

New launch on 3 September
Among other updates, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch a new Arena-Exclusive Midsize SUV, which will challenge Hyundai Creta and Kiya Celtose. Located between Brezza and Grand Vitara, this new model will go for sale on September 3, 2025. Its official name and details have not yet been revealed; However, the new Maruti SUV can be named 'Escudo' or 'Victoris'.

Maruti Ertiga has now become the latest model in the carmaker's line-up which has 6 airbags as standard, before the company has updated popular models like Wagon R, Brezza, Baleno with 6 airbags.

India's best-selling MPV also gets new features with 2025 updates, and ex-showroom prices have increased slightly, which range from Rs 9.11 lakh to Rs 13.40 lakh.

Except for a new roof spiler, no other changes have been made in the exterior of Ertiga. But when it comes to the interior, the AC vents behind the front passenger armrest replace the roof-mounted blower unit in the second line.

Interestingly, the AC on/off switch is on the right side of the dashboard, so only the driver can control it. Passengers sitting here can use two new type-C charging ports to charge their equipment.

Middle seat now also gets headrest. For the third row, twin type-C charging ports with two vents have been added. Maruti has not made any changes to the Paurtrain of Ertiga, which includes 103hp 1.5-liter petrol and 89hp CNG.

Toyota has made some changes to the Rumion so that it can be differentiated from the Ertiga. It now comes with a new grille that is inspired by the Innova. The front bumper has been redesigned. It gets a chrome surround that gives an up-market look to the MPV. Apart from this, the alloy wheels are new. They are finished in a two-toned machined finish.

2023 Toyota Rumion: Powertrain

Toyota will be offering the Rumion with two powertrains. There is petrol and CNG. Both use a Maruti-derived 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. While running on petrol, it produces 101 bhp of max power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque output of 136.8 Nm at 4,400 rpm. On CNG, the power is decreased to 86.63 bhp at 5,500 rpm and the peak torque output falls to 121.5 Nm at 4,200 rpm.

As standard, both powertrains get a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine will also be offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.

2023 Toyota Rumion: Safety equipment

Toyota Rumion uses the Heartect platform and is offered with dual front airbags and front side airbags as standard. There is an Anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, Engine immobilizer, Electronic Stability Program and Hill Hold. Apart from this, there are front seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters, seatbelt reminders and a high-speed alert system.

2023 Toyota Rumion: Features

In terms of features, the Rumion will come with automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, second-row AC, a 17.78 cm Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, LED tail lamps and much more.

2023 Toyota Rumion: Price and variants
