Suzuki unveiled the Vision e-Sky BEV concept at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, hinting at an affordable and compact electric vehicle from Maruti Suzuki in India.

New Delhi. Japan's Suzuki Motor Corporation has showcased the Vision e-Sky BEV concept ahead of its debut on October 30 at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. Through this concept, the company has presented a glimpse of an economical and compact futuristic electric vehicle. Many people in India are wondering whether this platform could be the next generation Wagon-R EV.

Maruti's first EV

The launch of the e Vitara in India is expected by the end of 2025, and industry experts believe that Maruti Suzuki is looking to launch more affordable electric vehicles to gradually and stably capture the EV market. Rival companies like Tata Motors and MG are already selling entry-level electric hatchbacks in India, so Maruti's next EV could target the entry-level segment. The e-Sky BEV concept may give us a glimpse of what to expect.

Is Suzuki e-Sky Wagon-R an EV?
The Vision e-Sky is a born-EV concept with the familiar tall-boy styling, giving a hint of headroom for passengers – the hallmark of the Wagon-R. It has a flat nose and tail with short overhangs, maximizing interior space within its compact footprint.

Dimensions
In terms of dimensions, it measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,625 mm in height. It is taller than the current Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, but has a slightly smaller length and width, which falls in line with Japanese kei car regulations and hints at a hyper local compact EV for the Indian market.

Styling Highlights
Talking about styling, it includes a futuristic front fascia with multi-array LED light bar, C-shaped DRL and aero-friendly wheels. The exterior features a modern dual-tone color scheme with a white roof and a 'floating' C-pillar.
