Maruti Suzuki India Limited records production of 35 lakh units of Maruti WagonR, swivel seat option introduced with TRUEAssist for senior citizens. Wagon R was launched in India in 1999 and in Japan earlier in 1993. Since then till now it has remained India's favorite hatchback.

New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki India Limited has achieved the milestone of production of a total of 35 lakh units in three generations of its very popular hatchback WagonR. Maruti WagonR, launched in December 1999, has crossed this tremendous achievement along with Alto and Swift. At present, this car is manufactured in the company's plants located in Gurugram and Manesar (Haryana). Even after so many years of launch, it is the most popular hatchback in India.

Launched in Japan in 1993
The Suzuki WagonR was first introduced in Japan in September 1993. It was developed as a semi-bonnet style mini wagon, which became very popular as a comfortable and easy-to-use car. It is manufactured in Japan, India, Hungary and Indonesia. Currently, Maruti WagonR is sold in more than 75 countries and regions, including Japan, India and Europe. In August 2025, Suzuki WagonR crossed the total sales mark of 1 crore units.

swivel seat for senior citizens
Recently the company has introduced the option of swivel seat in Maruti WagonR, which has been specially designed for the convenience of senior citizens and disabled persons. This initiative is inspired by Suzuki Group's corporate slogan 'By Your Side'. For this initiative, Maruti Suzuki has partnered with Bengaluru-based startup TRUEAssist Technology Private Limited under the startup incubation program of NSRCEL-IIM Bengaluru.

How to order?
Customers can order the swivel seat as a retro fitment kit at Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships. This seat can be installed in new WagonR models or can also be fitted in existing vehicles. Through this initiative, the company aims to make access to cars easier for more and more customers. Maruti WagonR swivel seat kit has been safety tested at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and meets the required safety standards. No changes are made to the structure or core functions of the car during installation. 3 years warranty is also available with the swivel seat, which gives complete assurance to the customers.

New Delhi. If you are waiting for the right time to buy a Maruti Suzuki car, then November 2025 may be right for you. India's largest carmaker is offering huge cash discounts, exchange bonuses and scrappage incentives on many popular models at its Arena and Nexa dealerships.

Alto and Celerio
Maruti Suzuki Arena Offers Starting with the Arena lineup, the entry-level Alto K10, S-Presso and Celerio are getting a cash discount of Rs 15,000, a corporate discount of Rs 2,500 and an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000. There is a cash discount of Rs 20,000 on the ever-popular Wagon R, while the Swift's LXi and CNG trims are getting a discount of Rs 10,000 and other variants are getting a discount of Rs 15,000. Apart from this, buyers can also avail corporate bonus of Rs 5,000 and exchange bonus of Rs 15,000.

Discount on Eeco and Desire
Moving up the range, there is a cashback of Rs 10,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000 on the Eeco. There is a corporate discount of only Rs 2,500 on the Dezire sedan, while the Brezza petrol is getting a corporate discount of Rs 5,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000. However, the Ertiga continues to be offered without any discount this month. As an additional benefit, Maruti Suzuki is also offering an additional scrappage benefit of Rs 25,000 on trade-in of a 15-year-old car on most Arena models (except Dzire and Ertiga).

Maruti Suzuki Nexa Offers
The discounts in Nexa showrooms are equally attractive. There is a discount of Rs 25,000 on the manual variant and Rs 30,000 on the AMT variant on Ignis, along with an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000 or scrappage benefit of Rs 30,000. There is a discount of Rs 15,000 on the Baleno manual version and Rs 20,000 on AMT, along with additional benefits of up to Rs 25,000 under exchange or scrappage schemes.

Maruti Franks
Front offers vary depending on engine; There is a cash and exchange bonus of Rs 10,000 on non-turbo variants, while there is a cash discount of Rs 50,000 on turbo variants. There is an exchange bonus of Rs 1 lakh and an additional cash discount of Rs 25,000 on the Jimny Alpha trim. There is Rs 10,000 cashback and Rs 25,000 scrappage benefit on the XL6 Zeta variant, while there is Rs 40,000 cashback and Rs 40,000 exchange bonus on Grand Vitara Smart Hybrid variants, along with a five-year extended warranty. The Strong Hybrid version has a discount of Rs 60,000, five years warranty and additional exchange benefit. At the top of the range, there is an exchange bonus of Rs 1 lakh or a scrappage incentive of Rs 1.15 lakh on the Invicto Alpha, which is the biggest offer from Maruti this month.

  • Maruti’s new initiative is aimed at celebrating the growing number of women drivers and influencers in vehicle decisions across the country.

On account of Women’s Day, Maruti Suzuki has announced that they have sold more than 9 lakh cars through their Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships. In FY23-24, 28 per cent chose Maruti Suzuki’s cars which is up from 18 per cent in FY17-18. The brand will be launching a new campaign called ‘Arena Journeys’ under the Maruti Suzuki Arena. This initiative is aimed at celebrating the growing number of women drivers and influencers in vehicle decisions across the country.

The campaign will include short stories from four well-known women directors such as Tanuja Chandra, Alankrita Shrivastava, Sonam Nair, and Tahira Kashyap Khurrana. The directors will be narrating interesting stories of women.

The first short story will debut on 8th March. Commenting on the launch of the ‘Arena Journeys’, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, said, “As industry leaders, Maruti Suzuki India Limited is proud to shine a spotlight on the rising number of women taking charge of the roads. We are proud of the fact that over 9 lakh women buyers have found their right match with Maruti Suzuki Arena. More than 28% of women in FY23-24 chose the brand value of Maruti Suzuki as a reason to purchase. Arena Journeys is more than just a campaign; it’s a testament to the brand’s dedication to inclusivity, empowerment, and customer-centricity.”

Currently, the brand is working on the launch of Swift which is expected to make its debut in the coming months. The hatchback will get some major revisions to the exterior and the interior will have some hints of the Baleno. The biggest change will be the new engine. It will be a new three-cylinder unit that will replace the current four-cylinder unit. Suzuki says that they did this in favour of better fuel efficiency and the engine is supposed to deliver better low-end torque.
