Maruti Suzuki India Limited produced a record production of 22.55 lakh vehicles in 2025, in which Franks, Baleno, Swift, Dezire and Ertiga were at the forefront. The company is targeting 40 lakh units.

New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki India Limited has recorded the highest ever annual production of more than 22.55 lakh vehicles in the calendar year 2025, which shows the continuously increasing production in the last five years. The country's largest car manufacturing company has continuously increased production. 16.29 lakh units were produced in 2021, 19.16 lakh units in 2022, 19.34 lakh units in 2023 and 20.63 lakh units in 2024, after which a new record was made in 2025. This is the second consecutive year when Maruti Suzuki's annual production has crossed the figure of 20 lakh units.

Demand for hatchback and compact SUV
Production in 2025 included vehicles for domestic sales, exports and supply to OEMs, reflecting the company's manufacturing diversity. The five models with the highest production this year were – Ford, Baleno, Swift, Dezire and Ertiga. These figures show that there is a steady demand in both the hatchback and compact SUV segments.

Global Quality Standards
Commenting on the achievement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the record production is a result of the hard work of the employees and close collaboration with supplier partners. He also said that the high level of localization has helped the company in large scale production while maintaining global quality standards, due to which competition in this segment is continuously increasing in India.

Preparation to increase production up to 40 lakhs
Maruti Suzuki currently runs its manufacturing plants in Gurugram, Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana, and recently the Gujarat plant has also been included in it. The company manufactures 17 models and more than 650 variants across all its plants. In future plans, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to increase its annual production capacity to 40 lakh units to meet the growing domestic demand and also to strengthen its exports under the 'Make in India' initiative of the Government of India.
