Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Launch: Maruti Suzuki's first electric SUV eVitara has been launched today on 17th February. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 10.99 lakh. This price is with Battery-as-a-Service i.e. BaaS model, in which the battery can be taken on rent separately. This reduces the price of the car and customers get benefits. Customers can book this car for just Rs 21,000.

Two battery pack options are provided in e-Vitara. The small battery is of 49 kWh and the big one is of 61 kWh. The smaller battery variant has a single motor that drives the front wheels. The one with bigger battery has a dual motor setup, which is named AllGrip-e and it offers all-wheel drive. The driving range in the variant with larger battery is up to 543 kilometers, which is ARAI certified. This range is quite good and will be better for long journeys. The range with smaller battery will be slightly less but it is sufficient for city driving.

Special look given to the car

From outside, eVitara looks like the old Vitara SUV but electric touches have been given. At the front are three-point matrix LED DRLs that are integrated with the headlights. The bumpers are in piano black finish and the 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels are in black look. At the rear, there are sculpted three-point matrix LED tail lamps and a bold 3D profile. It looks futuristic and modern but maintains Maruti's old SUV styling.

The interior is unique

Talking about the interior, eVitara focuses on comfort and technology. There are ventilated seats in the front, the driver's seat is 10-way power adjustable. The rear seats are flexible to be more practical. For safety, there are seven airbags, level-2 ADAS which includes autonomous functions like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control etc. The cabin gives a premium feel with 360 degree camera, wireless charging, keyless entry, ride-by-wire technology and ambient lighting.

This car will be sold at Maruti's NEXA dealership. Maruti has said that eVitara will be made in India and will also be exported to many countries. New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its first electric SUV in India, the e Vitara today. Its production has started at the company's Gujarat plant and the initial units are also being exported to international markets. Its design is inspired by its ICE variant and it has been provided with electric powertrain, which will be available in both FWD and AWD configurations, to meet the different needs of the customers. This launch is a big milestone for Maruti Suzuki, as the company is entering the electric SUV segment for the first time.

Maruti Suzuki E Vitara will come with two battery pack options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Range

The front-wheel drive e-Vitra is expected to be launched in India first with a larger battery pack, giving a range of over 500 km as per ARAI rating, while the dual-motor variant will arrive later.

Design
Design highlights of the e-Vitara include three-point matrix LED DRLs integrated with the headlights, massive bumpers with piano-black finish, and 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels with a blacked out look. Its 3D profile and three-point matrix tail lamps complete its styling, which is very similar to the ICE Vitara, but with modern EV touches.
