Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard: Price and features
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard is part of the official fleet of the Prime Minister in India, which was inducted by the Special Protection Group (SPG) in 2021. Earlier the PM used to use Range Rover Vogue and Toyota Land Cruiser, but now this armored limousine is setting a new standard for his safety and comfort.
The price of this car is much higher than the standard version of Maybach S-Class. Although the price of the normal version starts from Rs 3 crore, but after adding VR10 level armouring, bulletproof glass, blast protection and other security features, it reaches Rs 10-12 crore.
Engine and Performance
This car is equipped with a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, which generates 516-630 hp power and 900-1000 Nm torque. The top speed has been limited to 160-190 kmph for safety. The most special thing is its ballistic protection. Under VR10 certification, it can withstand bullets from rifles like AK-47, grenade attack and 15 kg TNT blast (from a distance of 2 meters). Multi-layer polycarbonate and special steel are used in the windows and body, while the run-flat tires keep running for 30-80 km even if punctured.
Interior and Features
Talking about the interior, this picture is a living proof of the same. It has beige/cream leather seats, starlight headliner, generous leg room provided by the extended wheelbase. There are seats with massage function, ambient LED lighting, rear entertainment screen, bottle holder and premium wooden/metal finish. This car is part of the armored range of Mercedes-Maybach, which is made completely armored in the factory itself.
