New Delhi. JSW MG Motor India has announced a price increase of up to 2 percent across its entire product range. These new prices will be applicable from January 1, 2026. The reason for the increase in prices by the company is the increase in input costs. The company said in its statement that the level of price increase will vary depending on the model and variant. This move is part of the ongoing price hike trend in the automobile sector, in which many companies like Mercedes-Benz and BYD have also announced price increases for the new year.

Windsor EV will also be expensive
This increase in prices will affect popular models of MG. This also includes the Windsor EV, which is the brand's best-selling electric vehicle. Its price may increase by about Rs 30,000 to Rs 37,000, due to which its ex-showroom price will be between Rs 14.27 lakh to Rs 18.76 lakh. Updated Hector prices
Prices of the updated Hector now start from Rs 11.99 lakh and go up to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The recently updated Hector Plus, which comes in a seven-seater variant, is priced between Rs 17.29 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh. Prices for MG's diesel and six-seater Hector variants are expected to be announced in early 2026.

discount in december
Meanwhile, for December 2025, the company is offering many year-end benefits on its electric and ICE portfolio, with huge discounts on select models. In the EV range, benefits up to Rs 1.25 lakh are available on MG ZS EV, while offers up to Rs 1 lakh are being offered on Comet EV. Windsor EV, which is one of the new electric cars of the brand, is also getting benefits of up to Rs 50,000.

Discount up to Rs 90,000
Among ICE models, the popular MG Hector (pre-facelift) is getting benefits of up to Rs 90,000, while the Gloster SUV is getting benefits of up to Rs 4 lakh. Electric car for Rs 4.99 lakh! Is it really that cheap or is there some fraud? Know how much it will cost to drive 1 lakh kilometers

Electric car for Rs 4.99 lakh! Is it really that cheap or is there some fraud? Know how much it will cost to drive 1 lakh kilometers

New Delhi. MG Motor has recently shaken the market by launching the most affordable electric car Comet EV at Rs 4.99 lakh. It is clear from MG's competitive pricing that the problems of Tata Motors, which has the highest share in the country's electric car market, may increase. But how is the company offering an electric car at such a low price and what is the company's strategy behind this? Here we are going to tell you about it in detail.

First of all, know that MG Motor has launched its three electric cars Comet EV, Windsor EV and ZS EV in India under a special battery subscription program, due to which all three cars have been launched at a very low price. The special thing in this is that the company has not added the cost of the battery in these cars, due to which the price of the car has come down. The company will charge the customer per kilometer for driving the car, which will be the battery subscription fee.

Company's affordable EV for Indian customers
Actually, the most expensive thing in electric cars is its battery. The cost of the battery is 55-60% of the total cost of the car, due to which it is very difficult to control the price of electric cars. At present, the high price of electric cars is becoming the biggest obstacle in adopting them. Keeping this problem in mind, MG has launched the car under a subscription plan, in which customers have to pay only the price of the car while purchasing the car, while the price of the battery will be decided on the basis of the running of the car.

Company's special plan for battery
The company has launched Comet EV, Windsor EV and ZS EV under the 'Battery as a Service' plan i.e. BaaS. This means that the customer will have to pay only the price of the car as a lump sum amount. Let us tell you that the starting ex-showroom price of MG Comet EV has been kept at Rs 4.99 lakh. At the same time, Rs 2.5 per kilometer will have to be paid as battery rental. At the same time, the starting ex-showroom price of MG ZS EV is Rs 13.99 lakh and along with this, battery rental of Rs 4.5 per kilometer has been fixed. At the same time, MG Windsor has been launched at a price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) while the subscription charge for its battery is Rs 3.5 per kilometer.

Life time warranty and assured buy-back
MG Motors is also giving its first customers a lifetime warranty on its electric cars. Apart from this, free battery charging facility is also being made available on all three cars for one year. However, the company has also laid down some terms and conditions for this. The company says that under the BaaS plan, after 3 years of ownership, customers can sell their MG car back to the company. For this, the company will pay 60% of the value of the car.

How much does it cost to drive 1,00,000 km?
Now the most important thing is how much will it cost to run the car purchased under the new plan. Let us tell you that free public charging on these electric cars of MG is only for one year, after which the customer will have to pay the charging fee as per the tariff rate. Talking about Comet EV, if you drive it for 1,00,000 km, then at the rate of Rs 2.5 per kilometer, you will pay a fee of Rs 2,50,000 under BaaS. That is, after 1 lakh kilometers, your total expenditure on Comet EV will be Rs 7,50,000. If the charging cost of Comet EV is added, then the total ownership charge on this electric car will increase even more. Usually the running cost per kilometer on an electric car is Rs 1. If seen in this way, the cost of charging the car for 1 lakh kilometers will be around Rs 1 lakh. After adding this fee, the total ownership cost of the car will be Rs 8,50,000.

Now you will not be able to say that electric cars are expensive, EV has been launched for just Rs. 4.99 lakh, many companies are left speechless

New Delhi. MG Motor has done wonders once again. To give customers the option of affordable electric cars, the company has launched its cheapest electric car at an even lower price. Yes, now you will get a brand new electric car from MG for only Rs 4.99 lakh. At this price, it has become the cheapest electric car in the country.

Actually, MG Motor is running a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program to make its electric car affordable in India, under which Comet EV has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.99 lakh. The company first introduced this program with its new electric car MG Windsor EV. Now the company has also included Comet EV and ZS EV in it, due to which the prices of both EVs have come down. Let's know what is this special plan of MG Motor.

Electric cars become cheaper with subscription packs
The battery is the most expensive item in electric vehicles, which is about 55-60% of the total cost of the car. MG has not only made electric cars affordable by introducing the 'Battery-as-a-Service' program for customers, but has also eliminated the worry of re-selling these cars. 'Battery as a Service' is an industry program that offers batteries with a subscription model, meaning you have to pay the price of the battery as rent. Now customers of Comet and ZS EV will also have to pay battery rental per kilometer along with the car.

How much will I have to pay for Comet EV and ZS EV?
Now let's talk about how much money will have to be paid for battery service on Comet EV and ZS EV after coming under the Battery as a Service program. Let us tell you that the starting ex-showroom price of MG Comet EV is Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 2.5 per kilometer will have to be paid as battery rental. Let us tell you that earlier the price of MG Comet EV was Rs 7 lakh. At the same time, the starting ex-showroom price of MG ZS EV is Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 4.5 per kilometer will have to be paid as battery rental. Along with this, it will be even more beneficial for you to know that even after 3 years, you will get 60 percent assured buyback on MG's electric cars.

MG Windsor launches battery subscription program
MG Motor India took an industry first initiative and launched the first such program. At the same time, the company's new electric car Windsor (MG Windsor) became the first car to come with battery subscription. The initial introductory price of this car has been fixed at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company will rent its battery in the form of subscription, the charge for which is Rs 3.5 per kilometer.
