Now you will not be able to say that electric cars are expensive, EV has been launched for just Rs. 4.99 lakh, many companies are left speechless

New Delhi. MG Motor has done wonders once again. To give customers the option of affordable electric cars, the company has launched its cheapest electric car at an even lower price. Yes, now you will get a brand new electric car from MG for only Rs 4.99 lakh. At this price, it has become the cheapest electric car in the country.

Actually, MG Motor is running a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program to make its electric car affordable in India, under which Comet EV has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.99 lakh. The company first introduced this program with its new electric car MG Windsor EV. Now the company has also included Comet EV and ZS EV in it, due to which the prices of both EVs have come down. Let's know what is this special plan of MG Motor.

Electric cars become cheaper with subscription packs
The battery is the most expensive item in electric vehicles, which is about 55-60% of the total cost of the car. MG has not only made electric cars affordable by introducing the 'Battery-as-a-Service' program for customers, but has also eliminated the worry of re-selling these cars. 'Battery as a Service' is an industry program that offers batteries with a subscription model, meaning you have to pay the price of the battery as rent. Now customers of Comet and ZS EV will also have to pay battery rental per kilometer along with the car.

How much will I have to pay for Comet EV and ZS EV?
Now let's talk about how much money will have to be paid for battery service on Comet EV and ZS EV after coming under the Battery as a Service program. Let us tell you that the starting ex-showroom price of MG Comet EV is Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 2.5 per kilometer will have to be paid as battery rental. Let us tell you that earlier the price of MG Comet EV was Rs 7 lakh. At the same time, the starting ex-showroom price of MG ZS EV is Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 4.5 per kilometer will have to be paid as battery rental. Along with this, it will be even more beneficial for you to know that even after 3 years, you will get 60 percent assured buyback on MG's electric cars.

MG Windsor launches battery subscription program
MG Motor India took an industry first initiative and launched the first such program. At the same time, the company's new electric car Windsor (MG Windsor) became the first car to come with battery subscription. The initial introductory price of this car has been fixed at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company will rent its battery in the form of subscription, the charge for which is Rs 3.5 per kilometer.
