Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Mini Fortuner: Toyota introduced the Land Cruiser FJ at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, which may come to India as Mini Fortuner. It has a 2.7-litre 2TR-FE engine and IMV platform. There is a lot of excitement about this car in India. However, no official statement or announcement has yet come from the company regarding its India launch.

New Delhi. Toyota finally unveiled the Land Cruiser FJ (2025 Land Cruiser FJ) at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The new FJ model is a spiritual predecessor to the prestigious FJ40, but with modern appeal and a more affordable size. The big question now is whether Toyota will bring this new baby Land Cruiser to India – a market that has recently shown tremendous demand for lifestyle SUVs. In India it is also being called Mini Fortuner.

body-on-frame machine
At first glance the FJ establishes itself as a true body-on-frame machine. Toyota has built it on the IMV platform, which is already extensively integrated into the Fortuner and Hilux – making its launch in India more likely. Its length is 4,575 mm, width is 1,855 mm, height is 1,960 mm and wheelbase is 2,580 mm.

short wheelbase
This wheelbase is approximately 270 mm shorter than that of the Land Cruiser 250, which naturally gives the FJ a turning radius of 5.5 metres. It is likely to arrive in 2027 or later and will fit in the category below the Fortuner. Under the hood, Toyota has relied on a workhorse instead of chasing turbocharged units.

2.7-litre 2TR-FE petrol engine
The FJ uses a 2.7-litre 2TR-FE petrol engine, mated to a 6-speed Super ECT automatic gearbox. Output figures are around 163 PS and 246 Nm, which aren't headline-grabbing figures, but this motor's reputation for durability matters here. Toyota wants the FJ to appeal to consumers who value reliability, practicality and go-anywhere capability.

Design
Design is another area where Toyota has deliberately paid attention to nostalgia. Thick straight lines make the boxy greenhouse, round elements on the face instantly recognizable. What's even more interesting is that it has a removable bumper, wide cladding, exposed hardware and plenty of scope for bolt-on accessories for easy swapping or repairs.
