Ather Energy has reported its highest ever monthly retail numbers in October 2025. The EV maker continues to retain its third position in India's electric scooter market, maintaining its lead over Ola Electric, according to Vehicle Data. The manufacturer said the strong performance is due to increased festive demand, continued retail expansion and better availability of the product in key markets.

Ather sold 26,713 units in the latest reporting month, accounting for 19.6 percent market share. This is the highest monthly sales figure of the company till date. Ather confirmed that the growth was supported by the strong festive period and sustained demand across key metros and tier-1 cities.

The company also said it doubled its sales from April to October 2025, showing sustained volume momentum throughout the year. Ather has remained at the third position for a consecutive month now.

Bajaj and TVS maintain their lead

Bajaj Auto led the market with 29,567 units and 21.9 per cent share, the vehicle data said. TVS Motor stood second with 28,008 units and 20.7 percent share. Traditional OEMs remain in a strong position due to deep retail networks and financing access.

Ola lags behind as Ather difference increases

Ola Electric, on the other hand, ended the month at the fourth position with 15,481 units and 11.6 percent share. Ether volume was over 11,000 units, widening the gap between the two premium EV players.

Among other manufacturers, Vida remained close to Ola, registering a competitive 15,064 units and 11 per cent share. Ampere achieved 6,976 units and gained 5 percent market share as it continues to build momentum. In the niche and emerging EV segment, BeGos (2,760 units), Pure EV (1,637 units), and River (1,467 units) contributed 4.3 per cent segment mix. Combined sales of other smaller OEMs accounted for the remaining around 6 per cent of the total volume. Together, small OEMs and new-age startups add diversity to India's growing electric two-wheeler sector.

BMW Group India has recorded its best-ever sales in the first nine months of 2025, selling 11,978 cars and 3,976 motorcycles between January and September. BMW contributed 11,510 units, while Mini contributed 468 units.

The company achieved its highest-ever sales in the third quarter with a 21 percent year-on-year increase. September also set a new monthly record due to revised GST pricing and festive demand.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “Our focus on customer-centricity, strong products and after-sales service is driving growth. We are confident of ending the year with another record.”

EVS power sales pace

BMW maintained its lead as India's top luxury EV brand with sales of 2,509 electric units, which grew 246 percent year-on-year and contributed 21 percent to total sales.

The BMW iX1 was the best-selling EV, followed by the i7. BMW has now crossed the 5,000 EV delivery mark in India.

BMW also offers over 6,000 charging points across the country through its extended charging ecosystem.

Long wheelbase and SAVs dominate

Long-wheelbase models like the 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series and iX1 recorded a growth of 169 percent, reaching 5,720 units, and now account for half of BMW's total sales. The 3 Series was the best-selling sedan with 16 percent share.

Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) contributed 59 per cent to total sales, selling 7,040 units (growth of 19 per cent). X1 led with more than 30 percent share, followed by X7.

Mini and Motorrad are seeing strong growth

MINI sold 468 units, led by the Cooper S (up 90 percent year-on-year). BMW Motorrad delivered 3,976 motorcycles, with the G 310 RR and R 1300 GS/GSA leading their segments.

Retail.NEXT and financial services expand reach

BMW's Retail.Next initiative, supported by The investment of Rs 365.6 crore is transforming showrooms with digital-first experiences across 56 facilities in 33 cities. The company will add 11 new touchpoints by the end of 2025.

Meanwhile, BMW Smart Finance continues to simplify ownership with flexible EMIs, assured buyback and upgrade options, helping to increase customer loyalty and reach.
