It’s unclear as to what prompted the price cut but this would be a good time to bring the Skoda Kodiaq home for those looking to get a comfortable and luxurious SUV. The Kodiaq has always been impressive with its top-notch build quality, feature-rich cabin and comfortable second row. It also gets a usable third row, accommodating children and young adults with ease.
The Skoda Kodiaq L&K variant previously retailed at ₹41.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite the price cut, the SUV retains all of its features. Power on the SUV comes from the 2.0-litre TSI petrol motor tuned for 188 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The model is available in a single-spec option with the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels.
The current generation Skoda Kodiaq has been around for a while and Skoda has already unveiled the new generation model globally. The next-generation Kodiaq is expected to arrive in India in 2025 and is expected to arrive via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route.

Skoda reportedly will also bring back the Superb and Octavia to the Indian market later this year. Reports suggest that the current generation Superb will be reintroduced as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Furthermore, the company has the Enyaq electric SUV in the pipeline for India, while it recently announced the made-in-India subcompact SUV that will go on sale in 2025.

The Skoda Epiq derives its name from the word epiq and is about 4.1 metres long, making it a tad shorter than the Skoda Kushaq, promising a range of 400 km on a single charge.
Skoda Auto has taken the wraps off its most accessible electric offering. The new Skoda Epiq electric SUV arrives as a design study with the final version to arrive in 2025. The Epiq derives its name from the word ‘epiq’ and is about 4.1 metres long, making it a tad shorter than the Skoda Kushaq, while promising a range of 400 km on a single charge. Prices in Europe will be around 25,000 Euros (approx. ₹23 lakh) in the European market.
The Skoda Epiq shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen ID.2. The exterior adopts the Modern Solid design language, which the company says incorporates smart functionality and practicality together. The front gets the new Tech-Deck Face, which Skoda says is a modern interpretation of the brand’s radiator grille with the gloss black surface hiding the camera and adaptive cruise control radar.
The grille is flanked by new T-shaped LED DRLs with the headlights sporting Matrix LED technology stacked below. The bumper features massive vertical slats, which reminds us of the iconic grille on Jeep SUVs. The shoulder line offers a bold and flat design at the side that adds to the rugged feel of the Skoda Epiq. Add to that the flared wheel arches and the T-shaped LED taillights at the rear.
The cabin on the Skoda Epiq concept shows a clutter-free design with a dual-tone theme. The model gets a two-spoke steering wheel, a 5.3-inch Virtual Cockpit and a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard features simpler lines with a gloss-black finish running across. Skoda says there will be wireless charging and plenty of open storage areas across the cabin including a boot capacity of up to 490 litres.
The Epiq will be able to support bi-directional charging, allowing it to charge devices using the vehicle’s battery. The automaker has not revealed any specifications yet on the electric SUV and we expect the same to be disclosed closer to the launch next year. The Epiq is part of the brand’s EV offensive that includes six electric cars in the coming years. Skoda also has the new Elroq compact electric SUV lined up for debut later this year.

There’s no word on whether Skoda plans to bring the Epiq to India at any point. The automaker though is planning to introduce the Enyaq electric SUV in the country later this year as its first all-electric offering.

Within months after launching the facelift version of the Superb, Skoda has teased the upcoming Octavia sedan. It will be introduced for glbal markets in February.
Skoda Auto will debut the new Octavia 2024 facelift next month. The Czech auto giant has shared a teaser of the premium sedan’s new avatar ahead of global unveiling in February. The new Octavia will be introduced within months of Skoda launching the new Superb sedan. The Octavia 2024 will be the fifth major facelift the sedan will undergo. The fourth generation Octavia was launched five years back. The sedan was recently discontinued from the Indian markets earlier this year due to the new phase 2 of BS6 emission norms.
SkodaOctavia 2024 facelift will come with several changes. According to the teaser shared by the carmaker, the front face of the sedan will be updated with new LED headlight units. It appears that the reworked headlight unit will come with a V-shape design. Among other updates, the new Octavia is also expected to get a new grille and bumper at the front, redesigned alloy wheels on the sides and reworked LED taillight units as well.
The interior of the Octavia 2024 facelift is also set for revamp. Expected changes include a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a new 10-inch digital driver display, wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among others which are likely to be mostly cosmetic in nature. According to reports, Skoda is also likely to introduce level 2 ADAS in the new Octavia.
Under the hood, Skoda is expected to arm the new Octavia with new hybrid powertrain option. The sedan in its existing version is offered with three engine options which include a 2.0-litre diesel, a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.4-litre plug-in hybrid powertrain. In India, Skoda offered the petrol engine which could churn out 188 bhp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. In its new avatar, Skoda may add a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit with hybrid powertrain as well as a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol with mild-hybrid version.
Skoda has not officially revealed whether the new Octavia will make a comeback to the Indian markets yet. Currently, the carmaker offers Slavia in the sedan segment which replaced the Rapid two years ago. Earlier this year, Skoda discontinued Octavia, along with Superb, from the Indian markets. However, at least one of them is expected to return to India soon.
Having announced its entry earlier this year, Skoda Auto has commenced sales in Vietnam, marking an all-new market for the Czech automaker. Skoda Auto has partnered with the TC Group for local distribution and production and a celebratory event was held earlier recently with representatives of the Vietnamese and Czech governments in attendance. Skoda Auto India will play a significant role in supplying products to Vietnam from the Chakan plant.
Skoda has commenced operations with the sale of the Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs in Vietnam, which are being imported as Completely Built Units (CBU). The automaker plans to introduce the Kushaq compact SUV in the second half of 2024, which will be exported from India. The Skoda Kushaq will arrive in Vietnam via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and will be locally assembled in the country by the TC Group. Skoda Auto expects to expand to as many as 30 dealer partners and annual sales of over 40,000 units beyond 2030.
Speaking on the occasion, Klaus Zellmer, Skoda Auto CEO, said, “We are excited to engage with Vietnam’s dynamic economy and a new group of customers in this fast-growing market. This is also the next step in our accelerating internationalisation strategy, strengthening our brand in the ASEAN region and intensifying the synergies between our two key markets of India and Europe. Sales for the Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq commenced on September 25 from the automaker’s first dealership in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The company plans to open additional showrooms in central and south Vietnam with 20 outlets to be inaugurated by 2025 and 30 by 2028. Apart from the Karoq and Kodiaq, the automaker plans to introduce the Octavia and Superb soon. The Skoda Enyaq electric SUV is also slated to arrive in the market at a later date.
Starting in the second half of 2024, Škoda will be tapping into significant regional synergies. By then, the first Kushaq vehicles will have been exported from the Pune facility in India to Vietnam for assembly from CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits, with the Slavia set to follow in 2025. Hung Industrial Park in Quang Ninh province by Škoda’s local partner TC Group is already underway. Based on market trends, there are ambitions to ramp up production, potentially assembling as many as 27,000 vehicles annually after 2027. Skoda could use its local assembly facility in Vietnam to export models to other key markets in the ASEAN region.
