The Toyota Camry and Skoda Superb are both premium midsize sedans with a variety of features and a luxurious, upscale interior.

The 2025 Toyota Camry has recently been launched in India with a new design and many new features. It is the ninth generation model of the Japanese sedan and is now offered with a single petrol-hybrid engine on our shores. With its launch, Toyota has renewed its competition in the premium mid-size sedan segment. The closest rival of the 2025 Camry is the new Skoda Superb which was launched earlier this year in April.

Both these sedans have been launched with a revised list of features and technology. While the Camry gets a complete design overhaul and a new hybrid powertrain, the Superb comes with a generational update and a 2.0-litre unit that meets BS6 Stage 2 emission standards. If you're looking for a new premium sedan and can't choose between these two, we've compared the specifications, features and prices to see how they stack up against each other:

Toyota Camry vs Skoda Superb: Variants, price and color options

While the global-spec 2025 Camry is available in four different trims, the Indian market will get only one variant, which is priced at 48 lakh (ex-showroom). There are six color options available and the car rides on newly designed 18-inch dual-tone alloys. The color options are: Cement Grey, Attitude Black, Dark Blue, Emotional Red, Platinum White Pearl and Precious Metal. The cabin is offered with dual-tone yellow-brown soft leather upholstery with a piano black center console.

The Superb is also offered in one variant and comes with three exterior color options, priced at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom). Color options include new Rosso Brunello and Water World Green colours. The third color option is Magic Black which was offered with the sedan before it was phased out from our shores. The Czech sedan is offered with cognac perforated leather upholstery with high contrast stitching. A piano black decoration with the Laurin & Clement logo is offered as an optional add-on.

Toyota Camry vs Skoda Superb: Exterior Design

The new generation Camry is completely different from the existing model in India and it gets a new front-end design. The mid-size sedan comes with a wide front grille and sharp headlamps, while the rear takes inspiration from the current generation Lexus sedan. The integrated LED DRLs come with sleek headlamps, while the large radiator grille gives the sedan a bold look.

In terms of design, the latest Skoda Superb is not much different from the last one sold in India. It comes with the usual Skoda grille with washers on the sides and full LED headlights. LED fog lights have been installed on the bumper. On the sides of the Superb, there are 18-inch Propass Aero alloy wheels. The LED taillights come with dynamic turn indicators. The sedan also has Laurin & Clément inscription on the front fender.

Toyota Camry vs Skoda Superb: Technical Features

The Toyota Camry includes a wide range of features, including two 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment and instrument cluster. The first enables wireless communication through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and includes connected car features. The sedan features a brand new pale brown soft leather interior. The front seats are 10-way power adjustable, and the driver has a memory function. The 2025 Camry also includes a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging pad, a 9-speaker JBL audio system and three-zone climate control with rear AC vents.

Skoda has also revised the feature list for the new Superb. It includes a new 10.2-inch digital driver display and a 9.1-inch touchscreen infotainment panel that supports wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car also comes with wireless charging, tri-zone climate control and more. The cabin is fitted with perforated Cognac leather, with a Piano Black design option available. The front seats can be electronically adjusted 12 different ways, and the driver's seat includes massage and memory functionalities. The driver gets a two-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Toyota Camry vs Skoda Superb: Engine and performance

The 2025 Toyota Camry is powered solely by a 2.5-litre inline-four petrol-hybrid engine with a combined maximum output of 226.8 bhp and 221 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels via an e-CVT with 10-speed sequential shift mode for a manual driving experience. In global markets, the Camry is offered with all-wheel drive, with on-demand torque distribution between the front and rear wheels.

The Skoda Superb comes in its Laurin & Klement variant, powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol engine that meets India's current pollution standards. The unit is mated to a seven-speed DCT transmission. This engine is capable of producing 187 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque.

Toyota Camry vs Skoda Superb: Safety Features

The 2025 Toyota Camry comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), the automaker's in-house ADAS suite that includes lane-keeping assist, lane departure alert, a pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, and automatic high beams. The vehicle also features nine airbags, a 360-degree panoramic rear-view monitor, ABS with EBD and braking assist and ISOFIX mounts at the rear. It includes vehicle stability and traction control systems, as well as TPM, hill start assist control with up/down assist, and an engine immobilizer.

The Skoda Superb will be one of the carmaker's safest models in India. While the Slavia and Kushaq received five-star safety ratings in the Global NCAP crash tests, the Superb received an equally high rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. Apart from nine airbags, the sedan includes advanced safety technologies such as driver fatigue or drowsiness detection, a 360-degree camera, active chassis control, a tire pressure monitoring system and park assist with emergency braking assist.

After releasing multiple teasers and revealing the interior, Skoda is all set to reveal the new generation Superb sedan today. Entering its fourth generation, the premium sedan will incorporate the Czech automobile brand’s contemporary design philosophy. Upon launch, the new Skoda Superb will revise its competition with rivals like the Toyota Camry, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.

The new generation Skoda Superb sedan gets the automaker’s signature grille design with multiple vertical slats and chrome surround. The front and rear bumpers come updated, while the LED matrix headlamps, new alloy wheels and reworked boot lid with Skoda lettering along with new wraparound and sharp-looking LED taillights will enhance the car’s visual appeal.

As Skoda has already revealed, the new generation Superb sedan will come featuring a 10-inch fully digital instrument cluster inside the cabin, while the key attraction will be the 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The touchscreen infotainment system will come with wireless mobile connectivity, while the car will also get dual-tone brown and black upholstery and heated and ventilated front seats among other features. As the auto manufacturer has hinted, the new generation Skoda Superb will come offering a more premium vibe than the current model.

On the powertrain front, the new generation iteration of the premium sedan would get four different powertrain options. These will include a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 2.0-litre diesel engine, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol mild-hybrid engine, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol plug-in hybrid engine. Transmission options for the sedan would include manual and automatic gearboxes. Expect the India-bound version of the new Skoda Superb to come with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. Upon launch, the new Skoda Superb will revise its competition with rivals like the Toyota Camry, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.

Skoda Auto India announces August Exchange Carnival with benefits up to ₹60k

Along with exchange support, the company is also offering a complimentary service package of up to four years. It is also offering corporate benefits of up to 70,000 as well as extended warranty with benefits up to 4,000.

Earlier this month, the company carried out a monsoon service campaign, offering various maintenance-related discounts to customers. Skoda currently sells three models in India – Kushaq, Kodiaq and Slavia.

The company recently achieved a milestone of exporting 6,00,000 cars that were produced at its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This achievement cements the position of India as a key export hub for the VW Group. The India-made models are finding strong demand in Mexico, GCC countries, Sub Sahara, North Africa and other Asian markets, to name a few, further solidifying the Group’s global footprint. Notably, the Kushaq is also the first Skoda vehicle to be exported from India.

The India-made Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia models are set to be exported to Vietnam as parts and components in 2024. To facilitate this expansion, an advanced 16,000 sq. m plant is currently under construction in Chakan, Pune, dedicated to manufacturing these.

In June, the company entered into the NFT space with the launch of Skodaverse India – a Web 3.0 platform to engage users with NFT sales. It will offer unique digital art enabling customers to unlock bespoke utilities and experiences. The aim is to create a community of Skoda fans to interact, engage and co-create in the long term. Skodaverse India is a part of the existing global Web 3.0 initiative Skodaverse.
