Ratan Tata's 'favorite' car may be launched soon, the curtain was lifted in Switzerland
New Delhi. Tata Motors is one of the most active players in the EV segment. In fact, it is one of the brands that have an EV option for almost all petrol/diesel models. However, one of the most popular cars, Altroz, has not yet come in its EV avatar. It is also worth noting that the brand also showcased Altroz.ev concept a few years ago. However, due to some challenges, Tata Motors had to stop the plans of Altroz.Ev. The special thing is that it was Ratan Tata's favorite car and he himself showcased it.

Showcase at Geneva Motor Show
Tata Motors first showcased the Altroz.Ev concept at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and 2020 Auto Expo. However, the car never reached the production phase. Tata Motors faced many challenges due to the delay in launch. According to the brand, he faced the challenge of packing the battery under Altroz's surface. If the brand had to pack the battery under the surface, Tata Motors would have to either reduce the ground clearance or increase it. In both cases, it is not a practical option.

Tata punch platform

To solve this problem, Tata Motors is ready to develop altroz.ev on punch.ev platform. The smallest Tata SUV is based on ACTI.EV platform. In addition, punch.ev will get a facelift and will be introduced with the updated act .EV platform. The updated platform Tata Motors will be able to use a large battery pack with punch.ev.

Platform and Battery Technology Share
Now, although Altroz.ev will share platforms and battery techniques with punch.ev, design and feature list will be shared with its ICE version. The design of Altroz.Ev will be like the recently launched Altroz facelift. The new LED headlamps, flush door handles and connected LED tail lamps will be introduced with EV models.

New Delhi. India's electric vehicle market is growing rapidly and the country's major car manufacturers, including Tata Motors, Hyundai and Mahindra & Mahindra, are competing to establish their dominance in the EV sector. However, you will be surprised to know that the best selling EV in the country is not from these companies. According to market data, MG Windsor EV October 2024 has sold the most electric vehicles in India for three consecutive months. During this period, more than 10,000 units have been sold. According to JSW MG Motor India, MG Windsor EV sold 3,785 units in December 2024.

The EV car maker said that its MG Windsor EV has sold 3,116 units in October and 3,144 units in November 2014. It remained the best selling car in the segment for three consecutive months, during which a total of 10,045 units were sold. Let us tell you that India's EV market is still developing and the share of electric vehicles in the total cars sold in the country is less than 3%.
