Tata Motors is preparing to launch a new compact SUV scarlet in India, which will compete with Mahindra Bolero. The design of Scarlet will be inspired by Tata Sierra.

All-electric variant
Tata Motors is also considering bringing an all-electric variant of Scarlett, which can have motors on the axle, so that this AWD setup can be offered. Scarlett will join Tata's own Panch and Nexon's already filled compact SUV space.
Scarlet prices are expected to overlap with Nexon range, which is currently Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15.6 lakh for ICE variant and Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh (all prices ex-showroom) for EV. With Scarlett, Tata Motors is preparing to extend its EV lineup with two and sub-4-meter all-electric models: Kodename Kuno and Terra. These models coincide with Tata's broad EV strategy, including offering 2 options in each segment: Entry-Level, Mid-Level, and Premium, which can lead to a broad EV portfolio in the end of the decade.
Waiting for Sierra's launch
Although Scarlett is still some time away, Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the much awaited Sierra will be launched later this year. During the recent Harrier. EV launch, Vivek Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, announced that Sierra will debut in ICE (ICE) and electric variants within the current calendar year.
