Also, it is one of the most powerful SUVs, whose AWD version gets a 75kWh battery pack and dual motor setup, which generates 309bhp and 504Nm of peak torque. Tata claims that its motors can take the SUV from 0 to 100kmph in just 6.2 seconds.

New Delhi. Tata Motors is preparing to launch a new compact SUV, which has a codename scarlet to increase its SUV portfolio in India. In India, its direct competition will be with cars like Mahindra Bolero. The design of the scarlet will be in the boxy and straight, inspired by the upcoming Tata Sierra's design language, which will make it different from Curvy Nexon. Although the official details have not been revealed yet, the scarlet is expected to have many powertrain options.

All-electric variant
Tata Motors is also considering bringing an all-electric variant of Scarlett, which can have motors on the axle, so that this AWD setup can be offered. Scarlett will join Tata's own Panch and Nexon's already filled compact SUV space.

How much can the price be?

Waiting for Sierra's launch
Although Scarlett is still some time away, Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the much awaited Sierra will be launched later this year. During the recent Harrier. EV launch, Vivek Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, announced that Sierra will debut in ICE (ICE) and electric variants within the current calendar year.
