GST 2025 – What has changed?
According to the new GST rules, vehicles with small petrol engine from 1200cc will now be kept in 18% slab, which were earlier in the 28% category, which has now been abolished. Large cars and SUVs will now come in the new 40% GST slab, which was 50% earlier. This change means that all hatchbacks and subcompact SUV prices will be significantly cut, which will be effective from September 22. Brand-wise price reduction Maruti Suzuki has not yet disclosed the official GST price cut for its product lineup. However, there is speculation that the price of popular Maruti Brezza may be reduced by more than Rs 75,000, while the price of Maruti Fronx may be reduced by up to Rs 1.10 lakh.
- Tata Motors has confirmed that the prices of Nexon and Panch compact SUVs will be cut by Rs 1.55 lakh and Rs 85,000 respectively.
- After GST reforms, Hyundai's venue will be cheaper to Rs 1.23 lakh and the price of Mahindra XUV3XO will be reduced by up to Rs 1.56 lakh.
- The prices of Kiya Sarnet and Syrose Subcompact SUV have been reduced by Rs 1,64,471 and Rs 1,86,003 respectively. At the same time, the price of Skoda's smallest and cheapest SUV – Kailak – has been cut by Rs 1.19 lakh.
