The new Tata Punch 2026 facelift has finally been launched in India, with a starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it directly competes with Hyundai Xcent (Rs 5.74 Lakh – Rs 9.61 Lakh), Maruti Suzuki Swift (Rs 6.85 Lakh – Rs 11.98 Lakh) and Citroen C3 (Rs 4.95 Lakh – Rs 10.21 Lakh).

The pre-facelift Punch was priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh, making the new model costlier by around Rs 9,000. The new turbo-petrol variant is about Rs 40,000 more expensive, although it has more features and a powerful engine.

Its booking has started across the country. The new Tata Punch comes in 6 variants – Smart (New), Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+. It is available in 6 color options – Daytona Grey, Scientific Blue, Bengal Rouge (Red), Coorg Clouds, Caramel (Yellow) and Pristine White.

The new 2026 Tata Punch facelift now comes with a 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine, which is derived from the Nexon. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and generates maximum power of 120PS and torque of 170Nm.

The company claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11.1 seconds.

1.2 liter petrol and 1.2 liter petrol + CNG powertrain options are available as before. The naturally aspirated petrol engine gives 88bhp power and 115Nm torque, while the CNG variant gives 73.5PS power and 103Nm torque.

For transmission, 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual (AMT) gearboxes are available, which are taken from the previous model. The cabin layout of the new Punch is largely similar to the Punch EV, which gets a touch-enabled HVAC panel.

However, the design of the dashboard remains the same. The updated lineup gets a new gloss black two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo, fabric upholstery and extendable thigh support for the front and rear seats.
