Tata Motors launched the new 2026 Tata Punch, which includes twin-cylinder CNG technology, AMT gearbox, new 1.2-litre i-Turbo engine and modern design. Tata Punch is counted among the bestselling cars of India. Even at present, this car is very popular and is continuously generating good sales figures for the company.

New Delhi. Tata Motors has launched the updated 2026 Tata Punch in India, in which many major changes have been made in design, features and powertrain. Along with this, the company has also introduced a new milestone for the first time in the segment. The price of the new Punch starts at Rs 5.59 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It has become the first SUV in the country to be provided with AMT gearbox with twin-cylinder CNG technology, that is, it is the first CNG car that comes with an automatic gearbox. New turbo engine and CNG AMT for the first time in the segment The biggest change in this car is the new 1.2-litre i-Turbo engine, which produces 120 bhp and 170 Nm torque. This is the most powerful punch variant till date. A 6-speed manual gearbox is available with this engine and the company claims that it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11.1 seconds.

Power and Performance
The existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 88 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, will also be available in both manual and AMT options. At the same time, the biggest update so far has been seen in the 1.2-litre i-CNG variant. Tata's innovative twin-cylinder CNG technology, which is already known to increase boot space, now comes with a 5-speed AMT. With this, Punch has become India's first CNG SUV which has an automatic option. This combination makes driving easy. The 1.2-litre petrol engine with CNG produces 73 bhp and 103 Nm of peak torque.

Inspired by the Punch EV, the 2026 Punch sports a new front look with vertically stacked LED headlamps and a wide 3D effect grille topped by a full-width gloss-black DRL bar. The SUV gets a wider and more powerful look with deeper and more sculpted bumpers, silver accents and functional air curtains. New dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out ORVMs and six new body colors—Bengal Rouge, Caramel and Scientific—further enhance its road presence. At the rear, the connected LED tail-lamps housed in a black panel and the new bumper keep the Punch in line with Tata's latest design trends.

interior design
The layout of the Punch in the interior remains the same, but there has been a major upgrade in terms of materials and features. The biggest change is Tata's new two-spoke steering wheel with the brand's illuminated logo—previously seen on Tata's EV range. The center console now has a touch-enabled Clima Touch panel, making its look even more modern and clean.

However, connected lights are not visible in the vehicle. The rest of the silhouette of the car will remain almost the same, but the design of the alloy wheels has been updated. Talking about the engine, the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine of the current model can be given in Tata Punch facelift. This engine generates power of 88 HP and peak torque of 115 Nm. It also has the option of CNG powertrain, which gives power of 73.5 HP and torque of 103 Nm. For transmission, the option of 5-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed AMT will be available.

Tata Punch facelift: expected price
Currently, the price of Tata Punch starts from Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom). After facelift, its price may increase to around Rs 6 lakh. After launch, this model will compete with Hyundai Exeter, Citroen C3 and other vehicles.

The same petrol and CNG engine will be mechanically, new Tata Panch 2025 before. The compact crossover will continue to use 1.2L, 3-cylinder natural aspirated petrol engine, which generates 87bhp maximum power and 115Nm torque. CNG variants will have the same dual-cylinder I-CG technology.
