The new Tata Punch 2026 facelift launched in India at Rs 5.59 lakh, competes with the Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Citroen C3, is available in 6 variants and 6 colours.

The new Tata Punch 2026 facelift has finally been launched in India, with a starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it directly competes with Hyundai Xcent (Rs 5.74 Lakh – Rs 9.61 Lakh), Maruti Suzuki Swift (Rs 6.85 Lakh – Rs 11.98 Lakh) and Citroen C3 (Rs 4.95 Lakh – Rs 10.21 Lakh).

The pre-facelift Punch was priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh, making the new model costlier by around Rs 9,000. The new turbo-petrol variant is about Rs 40,000 more expensive, although it has more features and a powerful engine.

Its booking has started across the country. The new Tata Punch comes in 6 variants – Smart (New), Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+. It is available in 6 color options – Daytona Grey, Scientific Blue, Bengal Rouge (Red), Coorg Clouds, Caramel (Yellow) and Pristine White.

The new 2026 Tata Punch facelift now comes with a 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine, which is derived from the Nexon. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and generates maximum power of 120PS and torque of 170Nm.

1.2 liter petrol and 1.2 liter petrol + CNG powertrain options are available as before. The naturally aspirated petrol engine gives 88bhp power and 115Nm torque, while the CNG variant gives 73.5PS power and 103Nm torque.

For transmission, 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual (AMT) gearboxes are available, which are taken from the previous model. The cabin layout of the new Punch is largely similar to the Punch EV, which gets a touch-enabled HVAC panel.

Tata Motors has updated the features of this SUV from time to time, but its overall design has mostly remained the same. Now the company is preparing to bring a facelift version of this model to keep up with its new design language, and recent spy shots show that it is very close to production.

Waiting for new Tata Punch
In the new spy shots, two Punch facelift (ICE) test mules have been spotted on a public road, showing dual-tone roof and Punch EV-like styling elements. These prototypes appear to be almost in production form, which suggests that Tata is in the final stages of testing before launch. The launch is expected in the first half of 2026.

What was shown in the spy image?
Despite the heavy camouflage, several design updates can be seen. At the front, the 2026 Tata Punch facelift has a new bumper, which will give a new look to the model. The main grille has two horizontal slits for air intake, and the LED DRLs look slimmer than before. The headlamps are vertically stacked, similar to the Punch EV, and some trims may also get fog lamps with cornering function. Features may include ventilated front seats, 10.25-inch driver display and possibly Level 2 ADAS.

The same petrol and CNG engine will be mechanically, new Tata Panch 2025 before. The compact crossover will continue to use 1.2L, 3-cylinder natural aspirated petrol engine, which generates 87bhp maximum power and 115Nm torque. CNG variants will have the same dual-cylinder I-CG technology.
